Picked these up Saturday, but haven’t opened them yet. I have to get my smell & taste back from my recent case of the Fauci Flu.

Almost everything is boxed, and apologies for the backdrop as my usual photo spot was packed up today (i'll see it again in a few weeks) but having a little celebration of the local boys before pulling up chocks.

I bought a bottle of Michter's US1 two weeks ago, I still like Bulleit better.
I also bought a bottle of Hennessy's - I may dump it in my gas tank...

I'm pretty simple - I can't taste all the nuances people point out, I just like smooth.

Wife's now having a major anxiety rush because she doesn't feel like we'll have everything in the truck ready to go tomorrow evening.

    1. We definitely will, this isn't my first rodeo doing logistical blitzes.

    2. It's taking all my willpower not to say "remember 4 months ago when I started packing and you just sorta checked out and watched King of the Hill every evening instead of joining in?" :D

Instead I'm just sipping some of this lil gem I found today while picking up the beers to go with the pizzas for the friends who swung by and helped.

(also there's like 1.5 rooms left to go, and neither of them is even full anymore, so I told her when she's done with the bathroom to please stop and get some rest, reassuring her we'll be absolutely fine as i have a couple of my old mil colleagues swinging by to do it our way lol)

Keep at it... Moving isn't fun. Doable with planning and help, but not fun. Not looking forward to it when we do it.

I bet you I can put that next to 5 or 6 other Whiskeys and you cannot pick PVW out of them.

The hype not = the price... but it's a 'status' thing.

I can...esp considering that I paid $109.65 for that bottle. :) ($129 less 15% for adding 5 bottles of wine at my local store to get the extra 15% off...)!

In all seriousness, it's a well structured bourbon that is priced right at MSRP. INSANITY at market/secondary market pricing!!!!

I had a testing with Glenfiddich, Glenmorange, Glinlivet, Laphroig and a couple others about 6 years ago,
the only one folks could identify was the Laphroig - which I also should just dump in my gas tank....

I am sure if I lined up Jack Daniels Black, Canadian Club, Seagram's 7, Seagrams VO, Old Bushmills,
Wild Turkey, Cardhu, Jim Beam and all the others I own that I doubt anyone could successfully name
    even three of them...

Haha, Laphroig would have been my pick of those four, @Whisky. Love me some peat! :D

Spec’s sent out an email saying ER12 was dropping Saturday morning at various stores all across TX. I went to the local store and was able to secure a bottle and also a bottle of the 2025 Shenk’s. A local store owner called and said I should come by that he had something for me. It was the new A. Smith Bowman Cask Strength Batch 4. A good day!

(didn't find any wine, so just popped to a shop down the road and grabbed a tuscan red)

Can’t believe I passed on a couple bottles a few years ago when they were reasonable. I had two on the shelf and figured I had enough. Bad decision.
