Big heavy car (the Maserati) with a TTV6 meh ... BTW the 8spd ZF in my Levante and the 6spd in my 2005 Jag S-type R are great automatics. The key is proper programming.
NO MORE F1 Cambiocorsa failamatics please.

 

Why do they shoot themselves in the foot making it a limited model… sell as many as you can.

 

So if this car is going to be a “super gt”, and is based on the gran turismo… it had better only have two seats (like the alfieri we all wanted) or it’s just not really different from a gran turismo…

stick sounds great. But needs two seats with maybe a rear hatch glass or combined glass / trunk lid. Like an f12, 812, etc.

Officine Fioravanti will already ‘manualize’an Alfa 8c, so I’m sure they would do the same to a GranTurismo - Given enough money!!!
Both are a bit vintage now, granted. I wonder if we will ever see any new manual Maserati. The news from Modena seems to change with the weather. Is the electric MCPura/20 really dead or not?
I’m not remotely bothered other than the fact that I understand the IC chassis could have been made much lighter without the battery provisions. Sigh.

The days of the notorious F1 Cambiocorsa are long gone....

 

that’s what caused the depreciation of the MC20, they built-too many in the first year and haven’t been able to sustain a consistent build rate since. A build rate of 4 to 500 a year would have been about right instead of building over 1,200 out of gate then to see demand collapse.

 

Shorten the wheelbase on the GranTurismo (it’s a Giorgio/Stal large platform), either Alfieri or a modern version of the Ghibli l as a spyder, with the rumored V8 and a stick, max 500 a year @250 to 300k. Sold out for the entire production.

 

But there are still people driving cars with this transmission, both Maserati & Ferrari. So we won't be able to forget.

agree, but they are throwing around hints of a V8, along with manual transmission, new special edition models etc. got to keep their name in the news. And will all probably come to nothing

I had one. For its time it wasn't bad at all. People complained about it but the F1 Ferrari 360 wasn't much better.

That being said, its not as good as today's paddle shifters.

 

I have serious doubts that there is this pent up demand for manual cars. Yes, there are some people (like myself) who want them. But the term "limited edition" probably means there will be more autoboxes made, which is where the market it.

And its possible that emission and fuel mileage requirements may require more autoboxes made because they are easier to assure pass the tests.

 

Exciting move by Maserati, love that they’re considering a manual again. Could make for a proper driver’s car

 

How long have you been following Maserati, particularly in the 21st century? They've been superb prick teasers.

When they were new a lot of people liked the cambiocorsa. When it came time to repair then the prices of the cars started to fall like a brick. The F1 is just as bad, but it is a Ferrari so cost is no object, right I always say if the 4200 had been only offered as a GT 6 speed the prices of the cars would be double what they are now on average. But how many would they have sold new?

 

a major part of the problem with the CC is the driver. Apparently very few bothered to read the owner’s manual, “when shifting DON’T lift”
