Dude, Michael Jordan is still the GOAT: 1) PPG during the playoffs 2) # Of MVP's trophies 3) Career avg ppg 4) Avg ppg during the playoffs 5) Multiple Rings with only 1 team 6) LEADERSHIP skills amongst various team-mates. No one.......I MEAN NO ONE....comes close.
Oh, really? I thought we were talking about him being signed at the beginning of his career? Why would you even say something so stupid? And yet, the belief still exists that Alonso is the superior driver. Enjoy watching Sir Aged Paper Champion continue to get manhandled by his superior teammate over the rest of the season.
Who are Michael Jordan and the Washington Wizards ? Never heard of them. A footballer or a NASCAR driver perhaps ?
Basketball player(Michael Jordan) Washington Wizards (Basketball Team.... partly owned by Michael Jordan)
Alonso himself said Sir Lewis Hamilton is above him when he named his top 5 of all time. How are you gonna argue with Alonso? I think I would go with Alonso's belief instead of yours. I enjoy watching Leclerc bro Lol. Sir Lewis Hamilton has nothing to prove. I'm having a ball watching all the young guns. The challenge for Leclerc is to build a career like Sir Lewis Hamilton. If not, he won't make it into Alonso's top 5 list.
Some do say it hurt Jordan's "legacy". The vast majority, especially young generations are stat riders. Jordan averaged 31.5 ppg with the bulls and his 2 season's with the Wizards dropped it down to 30.1 career. Plus the Lebron fan boys are comparing his EPO carried 40 year old performances to Jordan's. The same stat riders for Hamilton believe he was the best in the world in 2021 and then suddenly got too old and washed up in 2022 and beyond. Quite frankly, I'm enjoying watching Lewis struggle and be further exposed for his true talent now that he doesn't have a dominant car to carry him.
Alonso also said how easy it is to defend against Lewis and that Lewis can't pass clean. He had a recent interview where he spoke of his time vs Hamilton and made no comment about LH being better. You're choosing to hear what you want and use that as ammo. Anyone that says they think they are better than LH and you go on the defense. Why aren't you believing any of the drivers that put Max as #1, or at the least ahead of Lewis?
The mercurial Alonso also said, "What an idiot! We had a mega start but this guy (Hamilton) only knows how to drive and start in first," and "Max's titles are worth more than than Hamilton's," so we can go round and round all day finding contradictory quotes. The true challenge for Leclerc is to fall ass-backwards into a car that can lap the field with a weak teammate like a certain 7-time champion. The only difference is drivers like Leclerc, Verstappen, Russell, and Piastri don't lose to a driver of Rosberg's caliber in their prime.
LH has got to be the only 7 time WDC (oh wait, there aren't a lot of THOSE) whose talent is questioned...you guys are ridiculous. And to top it off, you guys love up on Alonso? The guy couldn't keep his brat self under control long enough to possibly reach his potential. Lewis DID. PS. It's 2025 (he's now 40 years old). How many 40 year olds are winning WDC's? Right. I get it. You guys have all parroted each other for so long about Hamilton that you can't come up with an original thought between you. It's sad. And now Nico is a bum also? Cue Bas or Giallo 550 or whoever to explain F1 to me or more importantly, why Lewis isn't a worthy WDC, based on all the "knowledge" that floats around here.
Just because you can't face the facts doesn't make those of us that question Lewis' talents ridiculous. FerrariChat members aren't coming up with some sideways logic that explains it. The facts are right in front of anyone and everyone to see. You talk about being original, but what's your argument, "He has 7 championships and the most wins"? Jimmy Johnson of Nascar, also a 7x champion and tremendously overrated. Richard Petty, 200 wins in Nascar - massively overrated. Lebron James (since you know basketball it seems). 4x champ, 4x MVP and massively overrated. There are plenty of start drivers and athletes that get ranked highly and the narrative gets pushed to tell you they are great and perhaps even the best. It doesn't make it true though and a little digging can prove that's the case. If Lewis had a car as dominant as the 2020 Mercedes and a teammate like Bottas, I have no doubt in my mind he would win another championship at 40 years old. If Alonso had the same he would do the same. Age is not a huge factor.
I can pick a weakness that I see in every driver. Apparently what he experienced didn't stop him from putting Sir Lewis Hamilton above him. It seems you in fact maybe hearing what you want to hear.
THE MAN HAS SPOKEN!! Don't argue with me bringing up other drivers and scenarios trying to change the subject. He said what he said!!! I'm just the messenger! go argue with Alonso if you are hurt about what he said.
I appreciate you calling me young, I'll take that anytime. But some older people simp too, like Alonso simping on Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Here’s the thing…what qualifies you to declare JJ/LBJ/RP as “overated”? They achieved what they achieved. Not in a vacuum…they had people competing with them who did not achieve the same. “People” say overated about John Wooden, Bill Russell also. And it’s just as stupid. As far as anyone winning a WDC at 40 years old, let me know when it happens PS. I can face “facts”. You and your pals need to learn that your opinions are not facts.
The fact I can form a logical conclusion based on the evidence (facts) presented makes me qualified to declare said individuals as overrated. I would also say Bill Russell is overrated since you mentioned him. At least I can draw a conclusion or form an opinion based on analytics, facts or logical thought. But to you that's "stupid". The fact we aren't seeing a 40 year old F1 champion has nothing to do with deteriorating skills due to age. F1 teams naturally need to look to the future and thus have to jump on the young talent when the opportunity comes. Schumacher was dumped in favor of Raikkonen. At the time there was big talk about Kimi vs Alonso and Ferrari should went after Alonso in hindsight. The point is even Schumacher had to be replaced for the new hot talent. I think most would agree that Schumacher likely would have done better than Kimi or Massa from 2007-2009. But that's life in F1.
You have to understand you are trying to use logic and have a rational discussion with fanatics. They simply aren't going to ever think differently or be the least bit open to any contrarian point of view. Their Messiah is infallible in their eyes. To even suggest he might have a flaw or have made a mistake is blasphemy. Of all the F1 fans Lewis devotees are the most fanatical IMO. Even Senna fans don't come close and that's saying a lot. They are like the Crossfitters of F1
