I don't disagree with you.

However, when I seek medical opinion about a medical condition that I have I do not (and I repeat, do not) go on a message board or (heaven forbid) the Internet generally, to get a medical opinion.

I know it's going to shock some people, but I go to a medical professional for that kind of opinion.

A message board, like this one, is literally like sitting at a bar and shooting the breeze with the guy next to you while nursing a nice 25 yr old Mcallen.

There's nothing wrong with that as long as we understand exactly what it means (and doesn't mean).

Just don't yourself too seriously, or anyone else here too seriously, and it's all good.

 

I know how forums work, my point is that at some point after all the opinions have been expressed and the initial knee jerk reaction has waned I want to hear from the people in the know and not same same regurigated stuff from people with an agenda whatever that may be, I can read youtube comments section for that type of garbage.

 

Lets go back to F80.

what I found during F80 TM, the black NACA duct can not be painted or switched to carbon.

also, some parts should remain as is since it is homologation issue, thus can not be changed to new carbon finishes such as wider patterned ones.

lastly, interior will have 3 different carbons in various areas. And the roof lining and A pillar? and the back?(I can’t quite remember) should be black.

 

negativity and criticism is part of life and I personally think Ferrarichat would be worse off it was sheerly an echo chamber of relentless positivity towards everything. Also lets face the facts - anyone who is buying a £3m car has already won in life!

 

Did you explore the new "ghost" colored carbons, they are interesting. More subtle than the older colored carbon that can look very candy apple. was your session in NY?

 

There are negative opinions which is all part of the car enthusiasts' culture, and then there are people with agendas. Ferrari is probably the most famous and prestigious car brand in the world, and much like other brands with a similar status, people love to hate them. Case in point, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Apple etc.... it seems to me there is a group of people who dont like the car which is fine, but have made it a mission to malign the car even to a point were they are questioning the integrity of professional journalists who have spent their whole lives reviewing cars Just because they have driven the car and found it to be brilliant. Its a little pathetic tbh

Nope I didn’t. Didn’t even know there is Ghost colored carbon. My choice was simple. Looking back, I should have asked more… too much pre-fixed a lot of things beforehand and didn’t care other options

That way you don't have to be so emotionally drained by the rif-raf. However, you may find that nearly everyone is on ignore, in which case, some more soul searching may be in order. Curious though, do you truly wish every individual online is readily identifiable? If so, why are you incognito?

 

No, I don’t wish we were all identifiable online but I suspect that time will come eventually. And maybe, just maybe, some of the nonsense will die down once you can actually tie the drivel back to a real person. Wishful thinking, I know.

As for why I’m incognito, honestly, I don’t think I need to explain. Those who need to know who I am, already do. The rest? They simply don’t.

 

That should not have an FXX model name! The predecessor 40 and 50 completely and utterly blow this out of the water.from a design perspective.

How difficult is for some of you to differentiate between criticism and dishing constant drivel? I DO get and accept criticism, that is not what I was complaining about I thought it was obvious but it doesn’t seem it comes across that way or some simply can not comprehend, nevertheless, I’ve seen more than one car forum devolve when behaviours such as this have happened and left unchecked. Members who were in the position to bring something fruitful to the table have walked because they could not be bothered any longer and turned to smaller more private group chats on various other platforms. Anyway back to F80…….

I get that you are frustrated. But, honestly, you did say exactly: "I genuinely can’t wait for the day when every individual online is identifiable". That raises a few eyebrows. But no one really cares who you or anyone else actually is. I am not important and neither are you. Opinions are shared on open forums and I think you'll find that FChat has suffered many fools over the years and is stronger than ever. Its not going anywhere despite drivel because our owner base is so diverse and knowledgeable.

I have heard lots of negative opinions about my current Ferrari here and so be it. Most praise it. So be it. If you are receiving the latest hypercar that is wonderful. 99.9% who post here will never have the means or opportunity to do so. I'm sure it will be as glorious as you believe it to be. Even if Manzoni designed it and it has no sound.

 

Honestly I am over loud sound, my Revuelto is already too loud and all I have done is add a valve controller. I am sure the F80 will sound very good, the design I am in love with, it looks like a Le Mans prototype and I am really into that, for me it's really the perfect car because I love motor racing and the F80 is race derived.

I’ve already explained my "anonymity" comment above: in a world where everyone must identify themselves, you’re automatically linked to your actions and therefore compelled to watch what you say and do because it carries responsibility. If and when we all become fully identifiable, maintaining anonymity and privacy will leave you with two options: stay off public discussion boards or accept liability for your actions. As we all know, many currently hide behind the veil of anonymity to troll without consequence.

Once again, I don’t care about negative opinions, that’s not what bothers me, and I believe I’ve made that abundantly clear.

It’s good to see FChat remaining strong despite the onslaught of “fools,” as you rightly called them. Many other sites have been destroyed by the same problem, with their core users getting sick of trolls and migrating elsewhere to smaller/private platforms, but according to your claim that hasn’t been the case here, which is great to see.

Since you mentioned that FChat has a large number of owners, I’ve always been curious to run a poll to see how many FChat members have the F80 on order. I realise some may not wish to divulge this, but it would still be interesting to know. Perhaps you could consider running that poll.

 

The sad thing is it is turning people in Fchat away, people who actually own, collect, race and drive their Ferraris. I have 4 friends who use to follow and interact in this thread, all of them are on the F80 list, they have all stopped reading this thread and participating. They have just had enough of the relentless V12 and exhaust note conversation. So for what its worth, and to Fortis point, balance is healthy after all this is Ferrari Chat, not Ferrari Nagging.

I too just returned from being away and I was hesitant to log in, and to my expectation here is another comment about exhaust note, I think I am over this thread, which is sad as am participating because I am finally getting my first Ferrari hypercar and I'm excited to exchange ideas and thoughts around it, not just surf through molasses.

I guess I will just stay in the 296 area so we can discuss the Speciale...

 

There are people loudly despising the 488 because of its turbos, the F8 because of its GPF, the 296 because it's hybrid, and so on...
There's nothing new with the F80, it's not because the people who like are going to spend more money than for other cars that it should be preserved from negative comments.
There is still good information available here, one just needs to select the contributions one values (for instance, this post can easily be discounted )

 

When the F80 first arrived there was another Ferrari that it reminded me of. The greenhouse is the most exaggerated part on that design. A quick look confirmed it was indeed the 1969 Ferrari 312P model. It's shape to appeared to be cheating the wind.

j09333 here is an example of green "ghost carbon". As you can see its way more subtle than how they use to create tinted carbon with a heavy tinted clearcoat. You can really only see the color in direct sunlight, its only apparent in the hotspots.
