Some people just aren't willing to accept that pretty much everything on these cars is sub-par to what one could and should realistically expect from a car in this bracket. Ferrari as a brand generally treats most customers and owners like second class people. Just wait until you see how a bunch of parts for your car are NLA or come as crazy priced kits (Cali T window switches for example) because having good parts support for the street cars is not worthy of Ferrari.

Ferrari factory paint is garbage (when talking about the base colors, I've never looked in detail what the special colors look like), the interior materials are very average and build quality is poor, the sticky switches are just an insult, cars needing engine mounts and shocks after 20k miles would be completely unacceptable on many other cars, yet on Ferraris they are "normal wear and tear", even when the cars mostly just see smooth cruising use. All the electrical gremlins that somehow only bother Ferraris unless you plug them on a charger if you plan to leave them for 10 minutes (which is not true based on my few months of battery tracker logs, the battery charge level is fine even after cranking it after sitting for 1.5 months)... List keeps going on.

I've given up worrying about it. It's frustrating and annoying and as my background is in automotive engineering, I hate seeing this crap. But I guess it's the cost of admission.

I'm on my second one, so I guess I have some masochistic tendencies.

    Anyway. Another TLDR post :)

People like him just make forums and socials annoying places. Funny, though, how much he projects his own life on the others.

Thank you, dera! Your reasoning is 100% correct and objective: I feel just like you. I noticed most of this after trying the first California T, and I feel just like you: masochistic tendencies :D:D:D . Of course, it's also a sort of goal, since I've always dreamed about having a Ferrari. It's also like the "last chance", since new Ferraris, in my opinion, are no longer Ferraris, and, anyway, I will never ever drive EV, hybrid, or videogame cars (like I call new cars 100% operated via displays). I already noticed that many parts are no longer available, and even the dumb Ferrari support: you ask them for an updated list of compatible car seats, and they reply that there is none. When I said that I have the feeling most of this brand is its marketing and price, which makes it more of an ambition and a status symbol than an actual good car, that included me. I think that my ambition to get a Ferrari is more based on a myth than on actual facts. My BMW M760 makes me feel like a king, while my Cali T makes me feel like: "Who knows if tomorrow the car is going to work?", or even "Who knows what part is going to break by the end of the trip?".

    So in summary:

we have one guy that knocks his own mirror off by being clumsy, and instead of owning the mistake tries to blame the person who designed the part at least 20 years ago (even though nobody has complained about these mirrors coming off in any numbers, if at all) and based on this mishap, claims the whole car is “a lot of crap”.

and another guy who says “that’s 100% factual statement” then despite this affirmation goes on to claim he’s owned two Ferraris, while at the same insulting the whole spare parts community, of which one of the pillars of said community sponsors this sub forum which he uses for free.

There you have it folks, proof that all sort of crazy folks use the internet and spout “alternative facts”.

No one HAS to post here and no one HAS to answer. But if you do:

Please tone it down, all 3 of you.

It definitely did not needed flaming. Anyway, the big deal is not about the mirror itself (even if it costs as much as a used compact car), but
Disciplining others requires correctly identifying the issue. If one breaks the rules, you should blame him, not who was defending himself. Otherwise, you are infringing the same rule you invoke.

No one has been disciplined (yet). You all are warned that further posts of the previous nature will lead to discipline.

I'm not going to get into who started it as almost everyone believes the other party did. We don't accept that kind of tit for tat. If you object to a post then report it, responding in kind or escalating will only make you part of the problem.

I know. This is why, at first, I even offered my apologies: the answer was just a collection of insults to my person, which is why I replied one last time before ignoring him. And this is it. Feel free to sanction me whenever I infringe any rules, but not for a single act of self-defense of my reputation.

I've spent years supporting those who cannot defend themselves and fighting against threats to democracy and freedom, including the freedom of speech. If the price for being insulted and daring to reply is being suspended, I am not worried. In that case, tomorrow I will just start a new account, or, maybe, just leave an unjust place

You don't get to set your own rules. Too argumentative and self-righteous. Goodbye.
