Specs are nice but based on distracted driving concerns I personally would not buy any unit without a physical Volume button. Our install is too low down on the center console to look for a Volume < or >. Other cars are higher up. Not this, but something like this
i'm sure it's a decent unit, but i can't get behind that style/size in cars not originally made for it
Me too. I've been waiting for a unit that looks like this with Android 14, GPS Nav, Front & Rear cameras and the usual 8GB+128GB with Wireless Carplay , Mirror Link Bluetooth 5.2, 1920 x 720 Touchscreen etc. I want both cameras.
For the line(s) of the car you probably don't want stuff protruding out too much and the CP-71 would probably be the best option still...doesn't change the car look at all...
Hello, Perhaps I am 'old school'. But I wouldn't install one of these in my F430 if you gave it to me. Regards, Les
There's a fold out pioneer deck that matches the car pretty well. I leave it closed most of the time.
I've got a kenwood, its quite up to date and has Alexa etc. Single din and you get to keep your dash looking as it should, which I think has aged really well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's not about being 'old school' or new, many of the "drives" I go on now use the "RoadStr" app. It's nearly impossible to use it without CarPlay or a really attentive co-driver, which I don't tend to have. If you don't cut any wires and only use existing harnesses, you can always swap in the old radio when you sell the car or if you are going to Pebble Beach.
Agree about the double dins. Not for these cars. I'm for the single dins with the pull-out/flip-out 7" screens for the times that I need to use GPS only (most of my weekend drives are through the less travelled rural areas so a GPS is a must). Cops here are anal about using Google Maps/Waze on your phone (distracted driving). I expect it to be closed most of the time too.
I'll have a look when I'm next with the car. Most of the latest single din stereos have about 50 colours to chose from, mines set on the pale yellow like OEM if I recall

Corey I love everything you do to your cars Like I always say ..buy the owner not the car ..if you were selling you would be the "right" owner
That reminds me, I just got a "light" tune on my 430. When life calms down in a couple of weeks, I want to swing by and have you drive it for an opinion.
I'm using the Alpine CDE-HD149BT. Supposedly the only Alpine not made in China. It's amazing. It's bluetooth and has an analog (real-time) volume button with zero delay. The built-in eq has every control known to man, should you decide to upgrade the amps and speakers. The former owner of my car spent an easy $30K on the audio system and this head unit handles it all - separate sub controls, surround effects, etc. The blue/grey background looks great with my blue interior but not sure how it would look against a traditional color. Anyway, when it comes to head units, I like ease-of-use, not a screen full of apps.

Wow, I've had my car for 4 1/2 years and have never once turned the (factory) radio on. But this thread has me seriously considering getting this other radio! I'm a total dummy -- is this an easy install? Just swap out the unit without cutting or modifying wiring?
