    I had the privilege of driving a 1950 Ferrari for almost 600 kms twenty years ago and still remember it vividly. Downshifting was difficult for me as I don´t have any experience with double clutching, but the owner said to just slow down on the brakes alone. That wasn´t too much of a problem, as I was driving the car at a safe pace anyway. Also the steering wheel wasn´t self centering, but that was easy to adapt to. Other than that it was fairly easy to navigate through modern day traffic. The experience was more visceral compared to modern cars. It was great fun, especially because we drove not one but four of these beauties to the Nürburgring!

    The more time goes by, the more I gravitate towards these very early cars. The car in Kidston's video is an absolute dream, the perfect color, looks amazing, sounds amazing. If I only had the money and the house in Italy to go with it..... I've no idea what it costs, but it's worth it.

    If you have no idea of the value then your half way there, just buy it and worry about the repayments later.
    Shouldn't take to many years, although I guess it depends how old you are, so you can pay it off while still living.
    However I certainly agree with you, its an absolutely beautiful REAL Ferrari.

    Great insight to these early cars and confirms this could easily be included in my very short list of cars I'd love to have if only one was the limit.
    Call me nuts, but I'd much rather have this than a 166MM Barchetta.

    Come to think of it and as always, perceived market values aside, given an opportunity, I’d much rather drive/own something like this than, let’s say, any Sports Prototype, 275 NART Spider or anything made after those.
    But the obvious lack of adequate wealth, this too will remain just a dream.

    Wonderful video and thanks for posting it. That was 0048M, mine was 0046M. Like the driver, I'm tall and these cars were built for smaller-sized Italians of the era, so notice the position of his knees--one against the door the other crowding the gearshift and both against the dashboard. The dashboard is only 1.2 meters wide and that gives you an idea of how much room there is inside.

    Sounds similarly "cozy" to the cockpit space in my '32 Plymouth Roadster, especially when its top is up and since my wife & I have managed numerous 1000+ mile road trips in it, I believe I could totally enjoy driving a 166MM Berlinetta similar distances.
    I just don't have extra $5M to pursue such dreams. :(
