There is now available a revised version of "Enzo e Laura Ferrari" by Cesare Carani., their personal doctor. This version is 183 pages as opposed to the original's 135 pages. Text in Italian and English.

Kudos to Porter Press. My copy of the 275P book arrived with a damaged corner. The book had been inadequately packed by PP's fulfillment house (it came from the same New Hampshire address that SNG Barratt uses to fulfill US orders, so PP must have leveraged their Jaguar relationship with Barratts). After writing to complain, PP had another copy shipped to me, and this time the fulfillment house ensured the book was securely packaged in a much thicker box, so it arrived in mint condition.

Maddening, isn’t it? I had similar….but worse…damage to a book shipped by Bull’s fulfillment company, which is documented somewhere in this thread. The best method is to have boxes custom fitted to the books they’re carrying. But even the expensive and quite heavy “Inside Track” was shipped in just some old box but at least the interior protection was sufficient to keep the books from being damaged.

What have you done with the damaged book, did they ask you to return it to them?

    ^^

I offered to ship it back, but they said to keep it as the cost would not be economically viable for them. So now I have a damaged copy I can use for reading, and a mint copy for the collection.

Interesting ... My Inside Track volumes were packed in custom boxes with reinforced edges, so the books arrived in perfect condition (I had ordered the deluxe version).

The 275P book also came in a custom sized box, but the edges weren't sufficiently reinforced, and there was enough of a gap between book and box and insufficient packaging that allowed the book to shift in transit. The fulfillment house used a much heavier duty box plus a cardboard stiffener in between several layers of bubble wrap for the replacement.

Now that you mention it it’s possible the custom boxes were inside the big old box.:)

Some of them are already so full of silicones, making a clone unnecessary.

Now, my pair of single-car auction catalogues by Artcurial on 250 LM s/n 5901 is complete.

The first one (blue cover) was published for the multi-lot auction at the Retromobile in February 2023.

After 5901 didn't sell there, Artcurial put it on auction for a single-lot sale in July 2023 (where it sold), and published a second catalogue for that occasion (white cover).

As could be expected, historic illustrations and documents are, as far as I can see, identical (though slightly differently arranged).

But both catalogues show different galleries of fantastic photography commissioned by Artcurial. The first one shot by Kevin Van Campenhout, the second one by Alex Penfold.

Are you criticizing my plan? I didn’t procure the book with the intent to set it aside as a collectible. I bought a copy, it arrived damaged so the publisher did the right thing by sending me a replacement, and told me to keep the damaged one after I asked about sending it back. Why would it be inappropriate to set aside the replacement if I can still use the first one, or do you think it better that I throw away the damaged book and use only the replacement?

I think Marc was just making a general throw-away comment rather then about your specific situation.
