Lmao! Charles absolutely humiliates the so called GOAT yet again.

It’s so embarrassing at this point even Lewis admits he is useless. His ego is getting beaten down worse than a rented mule.

    Time to step down.

Hamilton said: I am just useless post qualifying interview... Thats the sign of retirement coming up.
Sadly he is tarnishing his legacy. He is not that far off in points but has now been dominated by his teammates for 4 years (except 1 against Russell) and its been non stop complaining about the cars etc.
It's sad because the ones not liking him will then diminish his accomplishments because he is been around too long ... but i have been following F1 since the 80's and i remember the early hamilton , all the way till say 2017: that guy was blistering fast, fearless, with some great wins in the wet, some great overtakes. NEVER a SENNA level but certainly fast.
Now he is kinda like Kimi... Just around for too long, even alonso is faster than him...
    Time to retire

Max is an incredible driver, in his prime. Lewis was also winning in a below average Mclaren in 08 whilst kovalainen sucked, he won in 09, 10 too. HE is just past his prime. plain and simple

Are you sure about that ?
    - Prost won one WDC a year when the Williams were superior to his McLaren.
    - Keke Rosberg won a WDC with an atmo Williams well underpowered compared to the turbo cars.
    - I think the Red Bull was still inferior to the Mercedes in 2021 when Verstappen won his first title.

For you that may be not MODERN enough, for me it was like yesterday. ;)

The God of Motorsport doubted for a fraction of a second.

He was about to blame the car for his results.

Then the God remembered his team mate finished in first place and he had been bettered by the rookies.

And for a moment, the God was sincere.

I'm sure that most don't think of the 1980's as "MODERN" Formula 1? You're likely in a tiny minority there.
You bring up Keke Rosberg...here are his stats for his WDC season in 1982:
    Wins: 1
    Poles: 1
    Podiums: 6
    Fastest laps: 0
He won the WDC, which is no small feat. But, c'mon...I don't feel like deep diving, race by race, but clearly, all the "faster" cars were wrecking/blowing up/not consistent. The guy finishes in the top 3 in 6 out of 16 races and wins the WDC? Hardly a dominant performance. I guess he kept his nose clean just enough.
    I won't comment on 2021.

Sadly we can't have 27 year old Lewis racing 27 year old Max.

To the contrary, I'm loving every single minute of watching him fail. Puts a big fat smile on my face just thinking of it. The fact that all his fanboys are in total meltdown mode only makes it better! :D It's like having Christmas every single day!!! :) Goat my ass!!!!

You also might be gloating a bit prematurely if the qualifying times are your bragging point. I think you're going to be disappointed (again) tomorrow. ;)

Ah yes...the "L" word. You know who talks about "Legacy"? Guys on the internet, who mostly haven't accomplished enough in their lives to speak about "Legacy". Much the same as Michael Jordan during the Washington Wizards years. History will be kind to Hamilton just as it has been to Jordan.

Who calls LH the "GOAT"? I certainly haven't and I don't think you'll find but a handful of posts in this 10,000+ thread calling him the "GOAT". On this page alone, you use the term twice in 2 different posts...
I find that the ONLY people that reference "GOAT" are guys like YOU.
    I await your pithy reply.

Because, silly. Sherman and Mr. Peabody were cartoon characters and the "Wayback Machine" doesn't actually exist.;)

Forget GOAT for a moment. It's absolutely undeniable that Lewis is SERIOUSLY underperforming for a guy with as many wins as him and heralded by so many as greatest of the era. There have been plenty of people who questioned even that accolade given the cars he has driven for the vast majority of his career and from what we're being shown (again), it gives those saying that quite a lot of ammunition.

People here wanted Kimi gone (won a title for Ferrari)
People here were calling for Alonso's head. Same for Vettel.
All of them did better at Ferrari than Lewis. No I'm not counting wins or points. Relative to the teammate.

Well, if you were to compare them both at 27yo, it's obvious one has more titles than the other.

And which one had the most dominant seasons of all time (in both total wins and percentage, the latter of course becomes harder and harder the more races there are in a season)

Take a look outside the FChat bubble and you’ll find a horde of people claiming he’s the goat. Just look on Ferrari’s own content and you’ll find all the proof you need.

    :)

Is that pithy enough for you? ;)

To win the WDC, a driver must accumulate the highest number points, nothing else.
The championship rewards speed, but also consistency.
Keke Rosberg won his championship by finishing most races in the points.
Not a dominating performance, but he didn't have a dominant car !
If you dismiss his title as unworthy, think about Mike Hawthorn, the 1958 WDC with Ferrari.
He won his title by ONE point and one GP win from Stirling Moss who had won 4 during the season !!
Would you find that unfair too ?

I think this thread was mis-titled from the beginning. It should have been “Does Hamilton deserve more respect?”. A question rather than a statement of fact. I believe Hamilton deserves respect as a very accomplished driver. I also believe that he has been good for the sport in many ways. I further believe that he should retire now and maybe should have done so two years ago.

MJ didnt suck at all with the wizards.
He took a team from 15 wins to 37 wins his first season, the team was 4th in the east before he had knee surgery. He was scoring 25 a game before the injury and 22.9 for the season in an era where his team scored 95 a game vs 115 nowadays.
His stats compare very favorably. He was the best player on the team still... Hamilton has now been below average from his peer for 4 seasons.

Lewis isnt nearly considered as much as the goat as MJ. MJ had presence on/off the court that is unmatched imo.

20 years after his LAST game and MJ is still #1 in 90% of the polls and most kids never seen him... and the impact off the court ? I mean Jordan's still sell like hotcakes... Still Lewis' impact from a marketing standpoint mus tbe huge since Ferrari hired him for that.

For F1 most people still see Senna, Fangio, Schumacher and now Hamilton as staple names...

Personally i cant rank hamilton with the likes of Senna and Schumacher because i have not see him enough of him in a bad to average car...

Although i think Schumacher is a big a**h**e ,the things he did in 1997 taking a car that had NO business to fight villeneuve was amazing, his 96 season was amazing.. He was dirty , yes, but 94-95 he was just doing stuff of legends...

Lewis had it so easy after rosberg left that it plays against him...

I think there is too much money at stake for it to happen but i see hamilton taking the exit at the end of the year, and if it was the 90's , he would be out like Prost was in the mid 90's.

His: I am useless means 3 things to me:
    - Self reflection of course
    - Sarcasm criticizing ferrari for giving his teammate a better car
    - Criticism of the entire crew because quite frankly, it does seem that Ferrari is not managed efficiently (At least from the outside)
