The drivers see more than us of course. In the meetings/factory and offices they see the work and focus we do not, and results. Now the next car must be one that is competitive!
These days, 2 cars finishing in the points or one on the podium at GPs seems a good result for Ferrari. Finishing 2nd or 3rd in the WCC is also achievable for the Scuderia. Beyond that, aiming at a title (WDC or WCC) has appeared beyond reach over the years. It's a team with high expectations, but little satisfaction. New teams have done a better job.
Nice to see some consistency. He has done a better job than Binotto and still has plenty to offer Ferrari.
I dont sense any Corporate panic either. WEC success and the odd F1 podium for the Luxury Brand. Its racing, makes positive news and money flows. A title is nice as well but they will not worry much at the Elkann level at all. Why should they.............

He would have made an easy scapegoat but I don’t think the current mess is anyone’s fault but Elkhan’s. Hopefully they can somehow find a new young driving talent soon to build for a future WDC and not just merch sales.

Probably among the 3 or 4 best drivers on the grid, IMO, Charles Leclerc made his choice. He prefers blind devotion to Ferrari against success in a different team. His career, so far, is punctuated with brilliant one-off performances with no tomorrow.
Up to this point there has not been an opportunity to switch to another team that offers any better chance of success than staying the course at Ferrari. Until 2026 plays out if is a crapshoot over who will have the next dominant car. I won't fault him on his loyalty to Ferrari. It's his choice, and there is some honor in it.
Come on !!! This is Leclerc's 7th year with Ferrari, and by now he must have figured everything about the team. There have been several opportunities for him to swith to another team. There was a time Toto Wolff had him on his wish list to replace Bottas, for example. Also, I suspect Horner would have welcomed him to replace Perez. Honour and loyalty are misplaced in the 21st century; just look how Ferrari ditched Sainz !!

Most of us know this stat about Leclerc. It's unfortunate. I would ask Leclerc if I was a journo: "Leclerc, 7 years with Ferrari and no WDC title in sight.....how does it feel for you that Piastri or Lando will get to win a WDC title for either driver with less time in Mclaren?"
Binning 5 races from pole on your own is bad enough, but at what point do we blame the race pace on Charles? Being ultra fast in quali is great but it doesn't account for much if you aren't fast in the race. So easy to put blame on the car, yet he proved the car was capable of being faster than everyone 27 times and yet just 5 times it was good enough to win the race? One of which was the worst race in history - Monaco 2024. I lived through all the painful bad strategy calls and blunders Ferrari did when Leclerc was leading, but sometimes his race pace just doesn't match his quali and I wonder if it's Leclerc's style or his choice of setup. Senna chased the fastest setup for the fastest lap time and it meant a load of poles and yet he lost a lot of races from pole too.
In comparison, his team mate Alain Prost wasn't so focussed on Pole, but fastidious about finding the best setup for the race. Very often Prost could maintain a high pace over the distance.
And it delivered Prost 4 championships despite not being the fastest guy out there. People always forget that he scored more points than Senna in 1988 too.
I blame the car. He’s won Monza twice, Monaco, and Spa. He would have won Singapore and Silverstone if his wins weren’t gifted to his teammates. The Singapore win would have made him the first driver since Jim Clark to win his first three GPs all in a row. If the car has the pace, he can perform as well as anyone. That said, his allegiance will likely cost him.
This. Leclerc has 101 more race starts than Piastri, whose 60th Grand Prix was just last Sunday — and yet Oscar already has a genuine shot at the title this year. Charles: 8 wins in 161 races. Oscar: 8 wins in 60 races. Let that sink in.
