I like having a wiper plus it might keep the cops away. I could replace it with a boxer single pivot assy but I wouldn't be saving much. I will remove the passenger pivot though. I considered door pulls a while back, even considered no door panels but I didn't like that look. Its amazing how much the door panels and arm rests stiffened up the doors and made the car sound much better in the cabin. I also like the wrap around dash look that flows into the arm rests so that detail dictated no door pulls. I also like the stock headliner so I'm sacrificing some weight loss for aesthetics to a certain extent. I'll get it as close as I can without crossing that line into that full race car interior look and feel so I can enjoy long drives. The seats are really comfortable which I wasn't expecting.

Roughly 13lbs can be shed with a crank and rod swap. I'll be weighing other parts at the time because I'll be making several changes to the engine.

Excellent. Thank you Paul. That’s a good reference.

I think most just don’t know that even removing 150lbs makes a noticeable difference with one of these, let alone the difference from 400-500lbs.

The 308 chassis is otherwise almost identical to a Dino chassis, and those started getting a bit fat at the end of their production as well. Dino’s were pretty darn light in the early days

I thought I would post the receipt from the weigh station. When I weighed the car the scale said 1220kg but at that time I had a bankers box with a laptop, a bunch of files, my lunch bag and water. And in the rear trunk I had 4 new brake rotors for my daughters Focus and front and rear pads. What those things weighed are what my scribble is after I put them on the scale at home.

Inspiring. I reached out twice to the company that provided you with your engine cover, and so far, crickets. Was there anything in particular you did to get them to respond to you?

That would result in weight gain unless you can find something that I can't.

The smallest carbon ceramic systems are quite a bit heavier (and much more moment of inertia due to large diameter) than a steel system with aluminum hats sized properly to stop a car this light.

950kg is the minimum weight for a group 4 308 which is 2094lbs.
