The final GT was delivered March 24th, 2023 so the maximum market supply was hit within the last two months as 24 month liens were released. Lots of cars that were originally sold in late 2022 and early 2023 selling now and then I figure they will start to dry up later this year.
Not sure what you mean by walk up? With akrapovic exhaust, it sounds nice. Nothing compared to a v8. But what really caught me other than the look is how it drives and how it's eager to grab corners after corners. Reminded me of a Carrera GT or the Enzo. It's almost too good for me,it gives way too much confidence for average drivers like me.
I know 3 guys that got the first allocation sold them immediately after their contract term was over and each one I asked if they would buy another, all 3 answered.... nope. Apparently an amazingly sterile car. I on the other hand would love to have one as it looks so cool. We will see where we are at when my project is done.
I’d love to know how much they drove them and in what circumstance to arrive at that conclusion. You could describe it as a lot of things but sterile isn’t one. It’s not a great road car but it’s worth having for the reason it’s not a great road car, which is that it truly was a race car that very quickly was rearranged for road use. The road car was very much behind because everything was being done in service of the race car. I find that…appealing. In track mode, slammed, on a smooth surface, there is really nothing like it for sale. I’ve never loved the transmission calibration, but the chassis is pure magic when pushed. It could use more front tire.
I don’t know, I didn’t press the issue with any of them and it was brief. The one gent we moved on to another topic at hand and I was left to surmise however, the responses were delivered straight up and had an air of not wanting to say anything bad about the car specifically. So I left it. Clarkson seemed to love it (which backs up what your saying because he was thrashing it) and the YouTube guy who took all three from all three eras in the canyon roads preferred the 05-06 version. I think a V8 would have built a better following.... still, the car looks very cool and has really good stats and, of course, won lemans. I’d love to have one.
Sorry, typo …meant “wake” up the exhaust. Good comparisons regarding handling…I’m rather enjoying the driving experience of my 05 FGT. It is nice and raw and quite easy to handle through the canyons. I’d say even easier to handle than the CGT. CGT handling is razor sharp but definitely a higher level of concentration, as the car is so stiff and direct.

when you put the 05/06 white next to 2017+ white it makes the 05/06 looks yellow. Interesting how much white can change.
I have a choice to make and wondered about the thoughts of the forum here. I have a 2019 Pista 4K miles loaded with options 505K list. Its flawless. I have the chance to do a trade for a 2005 FGT Heritage Edition with 13K miles that also is very nice. My car plus 50K. Thoughts? Stupid?
Honestly, that’s such a personal choice, it’s hard to provide much insight. Almost like recommending blondes over brunettes. I own both cars (my GT is a non-Heritage) and I would hate to part with either. If forced to decide between the two, I would keep the GT because it’s more iconic, at least by my estimation. Both cars are pure joy to drive although they each deliver the thrills differently. Curious, have you any seat time in a GT? They are magnificent, but VERY slow compared to modern supercars in general, and the Pista in particular.
Depends on what you are looking for. I own a FGT, but still drool over the thought of buying a Pista....and I could do it if I sell the FGT and kick in like $250k, but my love for what the FGT is, its place in history, and how it drives keeps me from doing that. I will disagree with Cadster (who I respect alot and has a sick collection) on the acceleration (rated for over 200 mph so it has speed covered) of even a lightly modified car, it is as fast as hell especially considering the total lack of electronic intervention (intrusion). These cars are very popular in events like the Texas Mile.
I have the FGT and a 488 GTB which is tuned to 800HP. I also own the 488 Challenge EVO The car’s are sooo different but each a must have. The GT is the Ultimate analog super car and it keeps you engaged. It is without a doubt the coolest car I own. But the 488 (and I want a Pista bad), is the MUST HAVE modern supercar. Perfected sport elegance. The Pista Values are climbing also if that’s important to you. personally, I would keep the Pista and buy a GT. Or sell your Pista to me for $400 ;-)!
Yes sir I have owned three of them. I understand their differences in drivability. I was wondering more about the economics of the situation. Has the Heritage GT topped out? Is the Pista destined to climb above it in value?
The FGT in a heritage paint is much more rare and is the true icon a Pista is not (which even as we speak has been overtaken by the Speciale, and maybe soon by the 16M). So the economics favor the FGT IMO.
Ah, so if it is an investment question, I would guess the heritage FGT would appreciate quicker than the Pista, as the heritage FGT is always about 50% more than a non heritage FGT. As mentioned, perhaps trade the Pista for Speciale or 16M in terms of economics…
Interesting, of note, I did wrap mine in satin PPF which makes it look a bit more ice white. I’ll be driving the FGT up to Monterey for Car Week with my 18 yr old as co pilot (he’ll drive part of the way too). If any of you guys are up there holler, I’ll also have my Speciale displaying at Quail.
