488 Pista Rear Diffuser Removal

I took my off to clean; the main pain point is disconnecting sensor connectors; they are hard to reach and release the pin connectors. Basically you need to remove all the bolts holding it in place. Before you pull down to release ensure you have disconnected all connectors attached to the base of the inner part of the diffuser.

 

I also wanted to know the diffuser removal for installing the downpipes.

 

I too would like to know about removing the rear diffuser on 488 Pista and if it is possible to do without removing wheels and rear bumper? How does it attach at top part? I see the bolts and screws underneath. Thank you!

 

You need to remove all bottom bolts first. If you have ramps it helps or jack rear end up. Place padding under so you do not scratch the diffuser. Lastly pry off each rear light markers (tape the edges of the diffuser where you will pry them off) they snap out inside remove two bolts per side . The entire unit is ready to lift off. Note: you must release the connectors affixed to the diffuser. Once you loosen the bottom bolts you can reach in to disconnect them. Here is a pic of the diffuser-note the connection points.

Thank you! Does the factory carbon fiber diffuser come with a black plastic light/rear camera cover or is it also carbon fiber?

 

It’s CF also.

 

Rear reflectors have to come off it exposes 2 Allen head bolts
