A tragic attempt to “earn” respect for Lewis that backfired miserably and did the opposite!

Well, it was originally about Hamilton doing something that supposedly cemented his legacy more than four years ago, but I can't remember what it was, so it probably wasn't that important.

Created because other drivers hold no interest. Sir Lewis Hamilton remains the only driver who's the top focus here, so much so that we forgot who won the last race.

Really? Might want to go back and delete all those Max posts of yours. ;)

Even in the Lewis thread Max remains your top focus. :D

Does anyone know if Lewis reads FChat? If so, do we know if our comments weigh on him? Maybe
his fall from grace is our fault...we've broken him.

I doubt it. He's already heard much hate towards him starting from childhood. This wouldn't phase him anyway.

Somewhere between the hate and the worship is most of the truth. What he was and what he is, are not the same. Probably true about all of us. I think his evolution to the rap hip hop P Diddy look turned a lot of us off. I felt bad seeing Michael and Kubica fail in their comebacks. I feel sorry for Lewis and Ferrari that the hope isn't becoming the reality. But Lewis' fall from peak performance began when he lost the WDC to Max. Lewis felt he deserved it and that it would put him above Michael. Much as Massa felt he deserved the WDC that Lewis snatched from him in the last half of the last lap of the race. Now Lewis is simply another past his prime champion, but at least he's in good company.

Agree on most. In other words, we've seen this picture before. Funny Alonso has looked bad at times and making more mistakes, had'nt won a race in 40 years, most are ok with him here. But the standards for Sir Lewis Hamilton is so high, he qualifies 4ths off of pole and he gets retirement talk.

Fernando Alonso doesn't rub people the wrong way like your show-off god does.
Alonso isn't a diva, a virtue signaller or a preacher seeking attention.
Alonso doesn't pretend; he is himself, warts and all.

The memories of people here are funny sometimes. Why does Alonso get a pass for Crashgate and Spygate, his attitude while at Ferrari SUCKED - entitled, pompous, whiny man child - he's won less than 1/3 of the titles that Hamilton has. But for some reason he's frequently put on a pedestal. I've never understood why. He hasn't delivered a title in the better part of 2 decades, including 0 since Hamilton arrived on the scene - but people want to wax on about him.

That's your experience. Not mine. Sir Lewis Hamilton don't rub me the wrong way. To me he just has a lifestyle that is different from the mold of an typical F1 driver. And people get mad. Let them get mad. My hope is that he doesn't fit into a mold or change for anybody, I repeat, anybody. Hey you always said you're only interested in the racing anyway, why are you speaking about the other stuff!?

That's why I always check them when they "try" to give to others drivers a free pass. They can't pull that stuff on me. I call them out.

Alonso is not taking up a seat at Ferrari. As long as he’s at Stroll’s team, I don’t care how he’s performing. If he were at Ferrari and off the pace, I’d be favoring his retirement.

Who says Alonso gets a pass for Crashgate and Spygate ? There is no certainty he was implicated in either of them. Yes Fernando can be toxic in a team, it's well known, but doesn't affect people outside. I didn't put him on a pedestal, I wrote "warts and all", that's certainly not an eulogy. But for the average Jo public, he is less of a pain in the backside than the attention seeker now #2 at Ferrari.
