F12 or 812?

The timing and color is a coincidence. Mine just finished this week from removal of old PPF, paint correction, new Xpel, ceramic coating, and tint.

How long had old PPF been on it? Any issues with clear coat during it's removal?

 

No issues with the clear coat because they were carefully removing with steam. The PPF was on since 2016 and was very yellow. I did notice that they were concerned about the headlight PPF and did not remove that.

Beautiful machine - same color as mine and same color wheels - my favorite color combo to make the F12 a low key GT

 

His comment regarding the 458 exhaust note could be in context to the F430/430 Scuderia. The concensus being the 430 has the edge on exhaust note over 458.

He was also noted as saying the Scud as his favorite over the CS, Speciale and Pista.

Interesting timing as mine is in right now to remove both the 3M wrap and clear PPF on the nose. Had been on about 4.5 years. Going to switch to Pure PPF brand colored PPF. Should be done next weekend, I’ll get pictures upon pickup.

No one with a valid business will remove PPF off of headlight lenses. The final filtering and focus is done with a coating on the outside of the plastic which will be removed with the PPF so you're stuck with it.

Steam doesn't always protect from lifting especially with tight corners on plastic bumpers. Also, as it was explained to me by a well known detailer here, many new cars are sprayed upon in areas rubbed from delivery and before arrival at the dealership. New owners take delivery and immediately apply PPF especially to the front end. PPF on fresh paint has a higher degree of lifting. Pick your poison.

 

Just started the process of debating adding either F12 vs 812. Took me a long time to warm up to the F12 styling, which I now like quite a bit. The 812, not a big fan. I guess that puts me in an F12, but spec-spec the prices are close at $100k gap so not a factor and the 812 is likely the better drivers car. I would likely modify the exhaust in either scenario. GTS IMO needs quite a bit of depreciation still or that would win out.

I think the F12 hit bottom post Covid last year. I see them slowly appreciating from here. They are up about $20,000 to $30,000 from last September

 

Wrong. Covid was 5 years ago by the way. They are still mid to low 200's haven't moved that much up or down.

I’m talking about cars with 10,000 miles or less and with decent options of course cars with 20,000 miles and less options and colorful story are going for the low 200s but those are not the cars I’m talking about I’m talking about the cars with desirable options and low mileage between 3 to 8000 miles Those cars have gone up in value I know because I bought mine in September of last year and it had appreciated significantly since then mine only has 5000 miles on it.

 

Agree, 5k mile F12s in good spec with solid history have gone up 10-15% last 12-18 months.

 

The question is are there any cars with less than 10 000 miles left and if there are, is it worth buying one?

 

Download Auto Tmpist app - I do a nationwide search of all F12 for sale at least 2 times a week - There are plenty of cars under 10,000 miles, but they are going for $280,000 to $299,000. Last fall, they were going for $250,000 to $275,000 - meaning the low-mileage F12s

I am no expert on car depreciation curve,s but I think that the F12 is not going to go down any further absent a recession

The F12 is the last Pininfarina-designed GT V12 - in my opinion, the lower mileage, well-maintained cars are going to only go up from here.

To me, the F12 strikes the optimal balance between driver assistance and the raw feel that you could lose if you push it too hard. It is a car that you can drive around like a Honda Civic. If you are so inclined or if your skill level is high enough, you can drive it like an F1 driver can

 

I own an F12 since 5 years , my question was if it is worth to buy a 10-year car with such a low mileage and even pay premium for it. In Europe we don't have many listings with such lower mileage cars, but if there are more in the US, that's really sad.

 

It depends on how many miles you plan to put on the car. My insurance is limited to 500 miles per year, which is why I get a very reasonable price. This fits with my 5,800-mile F12. If I were going to drive it more often, then I would have bought one with 15,000 - 20,000 miles and paid a lot less - I have 4 cars, so the F12 is just for fun

My F12 is worthless, just crossed 30k miles and it got rained on during my 1000 mile roadtrip in the mountains . Great cars, they do better long term when you drive them IMO ; enjoy your cars Fchatters

 

I wish they would have made an F12 GTS.
