Note, this wasn't a U.S. based seller or any of the reputable places.

That would be Baldwin B7424 for a TR or 512TR.

The damaged one you got has nothing to do with UFI though.

Of course not. Someone in the EU got ahold of a batch and is selling them on eBay.

    Wasn't it determined a 599 filter fit?

Sure, its smaller but a 599 has at least the same need or more for flow and pressure.

Yes, there are many possible substitutes, but the Baldwin is closer to the larger stock TR/512TR filter size (so more similar amount of filtration material - even if manufacturers have tended towards smaller is better lately and not worrying about the "capacity" of the filter material). Either is Okish IMO (as probably would be any V12 Lambo filter as lagunacc posted) -- for me, the price of the Baldwin is more reasonable than the 599 oil filter.

Forgot to add that I've never heard any feedback if the ~7 mm longer length of the 599 filter is an issue, or not, on a 512TR -- can you comment? (Know that it is not an issue on a TR as the 599 filter is shorter than the stock TR UFI filter.)

The Baldwin B7424 is only 0.7 mm longer than a stock 512TR oil filter so can't see how that would ever be an issue, but the Baldwin B7424 is a few mm larger in diameter than both the TR oil filter and the 512TR oil filter so, if anyone ever tries the B7424 on their TR or 512TR, please give some feedback about the fitment. AFAIK, the B7424 is for a V12 Jag application.

Cant imagine either difference is a big issue. The 512 motor is lower but seems like 1/4 inch is splitting hairs.

    Baldwin B7424 - V12 Jag - $20

    UFI 2328900 - Aventador, Murcielago, Diablo - $40-$200

    Purflux LS928 - 430 Challenge, 599, Enzo, FF - $50-$110

The Eurospares Approved UFI is interesting at 30 GBP, just in case something goes wrong.
Might be a 2328900 anyway considering they're showing the same part number for the Diablo:

Brian, would you use a 599 before you used a UFI 512TR filter?

That's probably OK, too, but I'd pick B7424 over that one (not sure that B7424 was available when we were originally discussing the B255) -- JMO.

Used the Baldwin B7424 on last 2 oil changes on my TR, no issues in fitment, lot cheaper and easier to get.

This filter seems quite cheap, would it actually be advisable to use? I spoke to Danial at Ricambi via email and he implied that the price increase on TR UFI filters is probably permanent. The only engine I’ve ever lost (Ford 5.0) was due to a faulty oil filter so I’m a little nervous when it comes to them.

I have the SGP one (White with Red) on right now. They still seem to be reasonably priced.
