Ceteris paribus, apples-to-apples, US Speciale Coupe to US Pista Coupe (non-Pilota), probably the delta at this moment is closer to $150-200k. I think pinnacle superlative Speciale prices are currently ~850-875k and pinnacle superlative Pista prices are currently ~675-725k.

On the other hand, the most previous data point was Jan 19, 2025, when sub 5k mile 458 Speciales (2) averaged $700K and sub 5k mile 488 Pistas (16) averaged $569k, which was $131k delta. Assuming guy in vid is correct, and Speciale prices up 28.9% versus 488 Pista prices up 11.4%, that takes us to 700*1.289 = $900k for Speciale and 569*1.114 = $634k for Pista, which is $266k delta.

yeah no. Here’s my word for word initial comment that caused you to throw a temper tantrum, and start posting your skewed data that works heavily in your favor, in addition to making idiotic comments about marijuana use. Here’s my explosive controversial prediction in all its glory:

“Doesn’t seem like the hypotheses in this thread is accurate based on these percentages. The argument that the Pista will never see the Same numbers as the Speciale is off. Seems the Pista is following the exact same trajectory as the Speciale and will likely hit a similar price point as the pista continues to climb and the speciale plateaus, which is inevitable. I would bet both cars are similarly priced or close within the next 18 months.”

I have not watched the video. Does he adjust for outlier (especially extreme outlier) cars like was suggested in this thread? For my part, when I am evaluating a market, I tend to look at the best 25% of offered cars and compare/adjust accordingly. At small ample sizes, unusual condition/history/mileage/spec can greatly distort the “average”. To my admittedly untrained eye, the best 25% of Pista’s have ran up more than 11.4% over the last year.

This dudes credibility went right out the window when he said cario motors is a trusted source moving quality cars. Arguably the worst reputation out there. I’ve heard this from some of the most respected people in the automotive world that I’ve talked to about them. In fact, there’s an entire IG acct dedicated to how shady they are. The acct highlights the awful customer experience with their cars. Like engine failure 48 hours after pulling off the lot or finding out they purchased a salvage car unbeknownst to them. He might want to do a deep dive on that speciale he purchased from them that he’s bragging about.

Correct, nobody said that. Faider is in another of his pot-induced hazes. I said, specifically, I bought a Speciale from Ferrari Ft Lauderdale, who I've always found to be 100% above-board and a great dealer. And Faider said they were scammers....

Agreed. I don’t know how someone can be watching these markets for the last 5 years and not see the exponential growth the pista has had in the last 6 months. Totally agree It’s not 11%. Not to mention, the guy in that video has no clue about the intricacy’s of the market manipulation from dealers in America to serve their own interests. I follow him and I like him but He also asks his audience to send in data and we all know how reliable internet data is.

Again, I have no skin in this game. I absolutely love and desire the speciale and hope to own one soon. I buy these cars to drive so I’m always going to get taxed significantly on depreciation. I sold my pista spider last year with almost 9k miles on it. It was the highest mileage Pista on the market when it sold. I just got another one and plan to run it into the ground. I too watch these markets and simply believe the pista and specials will eventually plateau around the same number. Obv I could be wrong but to say the prediction is ludicrous is ludicrous because the data seems to be saying otherwise.

You previously said that you trust pricing on the Ferrari Used web site. You do know that those prices are based on US dealer prices, right? So now you're saying that those prices are manipulated, whereas you previously said they were the only ones that could be trusted. Yet another contradiction of one of your own statements.

The plural form of "intricacy" is intricacies by the way.

All fair points. Ultimately, the Speciale and Pista will draw closer, but there might well remain a permanent delta mostly because they just made so many Pista. The Speciale calling card is the last NA and has the better exhaust note by a considerable margin, but the Pista (to my eye) is much more beautiful and (to my butt) a much better driver. It will be interesting to see what happens over time. Again, I have zero interest in parting with mine.

It's a fun conversation. But these rising prices are terrible for drivers. I wish my Speciale was still worth $350k and I'd still be happily driving it. But I'm simply too cheap to drive a car that we all know will be worth $100k less when someone with a $30k policy rear ends you. No one is buying a $500k car without using a paint meter.

And if you are just going to look at it, even these "exponential" prices aren't keeping up with the S&P 500 these days. :-/

But.... it's still the best driver's car I've ever driven. I suspect it'll keep appreciating as others discover that.

Agree. If it were, I'd buy another. But if you love the car, you'll never sell. And if you never sell, there's no capital gain - or loss due to damage. In which case, market value is pretty meaningless, no?

You simply can’t follow the conversation. Too busy thinking about how to insult non marijuana users with insults about marijuana use. Almost as embarrassing as posting bad data year after year.

and in reference to Ft Lauderdale, I was always talking about Cario motors. I never once brought up Ferrari Ft Lauderdale nor did I say they were shady. But it is WIDELY known that the general Florida exotic market is. Having said that, if you can’t see the difference between what a dealership like Cario is doing to manipulate the market specifically with the speciale and pista versus how official Ferrari dealerships price their cars, I’m pretty certain you shouldn’t be the data guy in the room.

On the issue of Cario, you and I finally stand on common ground! 100% agree they are shady. And I never stated otherwise.

But I will tell you, Ferrari Ft Lauderdale are actually great dealers. Not fair to lump them in with the likes of Cario due simply to geographic proximity. More fair to judge them on past performance, which I have found only to be stellar in all regards.

I've bought two cars from Ferrari Ft Lauderdale. How many have you bought from them? If your answer is zero, then on what basis can you judge them so harshly?

I never said otherwise on Ft Lauderdale Ferrari. Totally agree with you and happen to be very good friends with the Service manager at Bev Hills Ferrari who was the service manager at Ft Lauderdale.

I was always talking about Cario and other less reputable south Florida exotic dealers that have horrific reputations.

Yeah no joking.... in 2018 I was in Naples for a cars and coffee at a great exotic car store there Gulf Coast Motorworks and they had a white 458 Speciale for $379 asking I think I remember. I'd be happy with that as my 1st and only Ferrari still today. Anyway I was still a Porsche guy and doing a ton of track events around the south so a Ferrari was not for me at that time..... price continue to climb and I'm happy for those Speciale and Pista owners!!!

I do not believe Faider is referring to Ferrari dealers ONLY when he says " dealers". Dealers all talk and they will manipulate pricing to their benefit. This happens in other industries as well....even mine! ;-)

Wait wait.... I can solve all this in two statements.

ACSATCO and Thecadster are ALWAYS right (sincere) so if you typed something that disagreed with them, you're wrong. Accept it.

And Speciale's are UGLY as hell! I mean not as bad as that regular 458 thing but they're bad for sure. So Pistas will eventually be worth more as they should.

    Ok, carry on now.

PS- Ellig and Faider are overemotional.

Funny thing is the Pista's that have been sitting for months and months for sale, have now raised their price.

Haha I don’t think I’m overly emotional. Just dont think anything I said initially was remotely controversial to warrant the response I got and based on your comments re ACSATCO(who happens to have one of my fav all time Pista specs) and Thecadster(who has almost an identical spec as mine), I wasn’t too far off the mark.

LOL......can i give you my GF's # and you can share these sentiments with her? but since were being technical, i was wrong once........because i am on my second Speciale, and i was wrong for selling the first one. haha. I do still prefer to look at and drive the Pista though and would keep the 488P if i had to choose one of the two.

I do have a 296 Speciale locked in and on the way. That should make things interesting. Perhaps i need to get out ahead of this and start a new thread "Speciale........Pista.....Speciale..........296 Speciale.........458 Speciale.............Pista" lol

As much as I am not into the Hybrid thingy.... you know that 296 Speciale is going to drive great and be extremely nimble and fast. I'd love a Chin Track Day session out at Sebring with one!!!
