So could red the color of my interior but I haven't as yet found a quality way to change caliper color other than new ones Oh I have all sorts of changes in the works but nothing goes easily. Wheels arrived, poorly packaged and now I'm dealing with that seller. I've had pretty good luck with eBay over the years. A crook in Austria once but the tide has turned. eBay's guarantee is worthless if it comes from China. Their shipping channel SpeedPAK has no way to verify delivery so in a dispute you lose. I just lost $190 over a package that was never delivered.
Sorry to hear you're running into so much trouble. I bought a rear bumper still guard on eBay (via China) and was happy with it. Also (real) carbon fiber seat adjustor plates and those look pretty nice. More recently some small stuff from AliExpress which went ok and more recently I ordered a piece from Alibaba which I haven't received yet (fingers crossed). Both take forever but AliExpress does seem to trackball the packages pretty well.
That's exactly what I bought and made it to the local delivery person (unidentifiable) according to their shipping service but never to my driveway ... I have zero recourse other than to dispute my charge with VISA. We'll see how that goes but if they have no physical proof of delivery with a photo it's all just a huge scam operation.
That's a shame. The piece felt pretty nice but I didn't love the unfinished look on my Bianco Levante for some reason, though it didn't look terrible. I haven't installed it yet. I wound up getting it hydro dipped in carbon fiber pattern and will soon PPF it before installing. https://imgur.com/a/SiIdt4s
What is hydro dipped in carbo. The film will tear. That's the point of the SS it takes the hit instead of the bumper paint. But yeah, that's exact one I ordered and never got. Does your local delivery of Chinese stuff offer a photo of the item "delivered" I see that you have the adjustable cargo lock down. Did you install that yourself or was it on the car and do you use/like it?
it basically paints a carbon fiber looking weave on any material. you can carbon dip plastic or metal and make it appear to be carbon fiber. people do it with plastic engine covers, for example. it's cheap and cosmetic. hopefully the PPF makes it somewhat durable but I don't plan to be too rough on it. The main reason I want it is that every time it rains, all the dirt from the entire car seems to aggregate on that bumper sill. Maybe you don't notice because your car is black, but mine is Bianco and every time it rains, no matter how clean my car is, there is plainly visible dirt on that portion. Hopefully a carbon fiber looking material will make that less apparent. The bumper protection is a bonus. No, neither AliExpresse or Alibaba offer a photo that the item has been delivered. I get stuff delivered to my work, which has a mailroom, and it's always been accurate. My Levante Trofeo came with the "Maserati Levante Trunk Railings" plus the "Maserati Levante Luggage Compartment Organizer System." The first Levante I had didn't have these and I bought a set to install from Miller Motorcars but since I bought the Trofeo (and plan to sell it) I returned them. I think it's very nice. I'll probably eventually get the OEM rubber mat that fits under there but leaves room to use the rails. I often have a single backpack or a box of wine in the back and it allows you to lock items in place so they don't slide around. On my Levante GT I got the rubber mat, but without some sort of something to tie stuff down whatever I put in the trunk just slides around. There is a good video by Videobob Moseley where he installs these trunk rails, doesn't seem too tough. I see a lot of Levantes with the rails but without the organizer, so maybe that's useful for something too, idk.
I've seen his video, yeah it's great. Mine is a lighter grey but I still see the NYC pollution dust. I do have cover since it sits in my driveway. I think the slider cross piece organizer is probably a good idea. Later perhaps. My first focus was a bit of paint correction, more than I thought was to be done. Then I got the Xpel PPF put on as I didn't want any more chips. On my way home from the car lot in South Jersey via the garden state & I 95 I curb rashed a rim badly in the toll booth because my wife had the easy pass in her car and I got a bad chip/crack in the windshield ... baptism by fire ... I ordered a different color set of mint, zero damage rims in dark grey with polished highlights. Gloss black doesn't do it for me and this car has all black out options for trim. But the bugger packaged them so poorly that 3 of 4 of them need serious cosmetic repair. More baptism by fire ... Oh and there are other issues but nothing mechanical so far. An errant interior repair that had to be rectified at my expense It's been a lot of work (for me) so far. Fortunately I have a pretty good hand car wash locally. I've done one long distance Trip to Pittsburgh and back for the Vintage Grand Prix. The best extended mileage I saw was 19 mpg. The PPF has been a godsend. Driving in Pittsburgh was a PITA though. This car is quite ponderous and it's hard to judge where those fragile wheels are. There was major detour going on in Pittsburgh that weekend which involved most of the access routes into the park there where the PVGP was being held. GPS was useless . You had try and pick an adjacent location that was affected by the detour to get close and then change the destination to the actual one you wanted. Of course there was a lot of street paving as well. We got lost a lot and we've done this event 7 times! Eventually we smartened up and took an Uber to go places. IMHO this is not a vehicle well suited to tight urban areas. It's an open road tourer just watch the right foot. In busier traffic the smart cruise control becomes annoying. You progressively get moved backwards in the traffic flow because slalom drivers cut in, it slows down then speeds up again. That's a tactic that doesn't exactly promote fuel economy. Out in Nevada, Wyoming or Montana yeah it would work but ... I'd probably have it turned off enjoying some high speed cruising ... 8-9 mpg
Since this is your second Levante and you now have a Trofeo I'd like to have a phone conversation with you as I think I could learn some things from you but you're too new to this website to make or receive PMs. I forget how many posts you have get beforre PMs are allowed? Do you hang out on any other maserati websites?
I'd love to chat. I've done an almost embarrassing amount of research on these. Same username on Maserati Levante forum, sportsmaserati too but I don't post much there.
I've had a lot of random chaos with the Trofeo too, but most were no fault of the car itself (e.g. the thing came to overly tinted for PA refs). I'm looking into PPF options myself, glad you think it was worth it. Lighter gray sounds very nice. Mine is white which has unexpectedly grown on me as a color choice. Yea, I live in the suburbs. Would feel very tight navigating Philly in one.
