If you have, what was the "drop" in height vs stock?

I am trying to find spring options, but GMG no longer makes springs. H&R springs seem to drop the car over 25mm in the front, which is way too much for me to get onto my lift, even with the Raceramp low approach angle ramps.

In my research, I found that Ferrari manufactures Scud springs in steel, which would be reasonably priced for OEM use compared to the expense and hassle of having custom springs made.

    Thanks,
    Cheers,
    Corey

H&R springs lower the car depending on how you set your shocks.

You don’t have to drop it by 25 mm; you can go lower or less

Can you do as minimum as 11mm drop in the front and 15mm in the rear? Or will that be a problem?

The first thing to know is that you must always maintain the chassis level between the front and the rear.

H&R springs are shorter than the original ones, but they are also stiffer.

When you lower your car, the spring extends: the more you decompress it, the lower the car sits.

On a coilover system like on the F430, the adjustment is done via the collar located under the spring. By loosening it, you decompress the spring and lower the car. By tightening it, you compress the spring and raise the car.

Yes, I get this. I guess that I should have phrased the question differently, as every spring has a "sweet" spot for ride height. Is the stock USA F430 height with an 11mm drop in the front and 15mm in the rear still in the "sweet" spot for using Scud springs, which generally have a bigger drop, and the same question for H&R? Everything I can find online said the GMG would have been good at my height settings, but they are not in production anymore.

I think you're overthinking it. Think of the perch as the baseline. The springs do not know where the perch is set, in fact it's completely irrelevant to their operation (assuming as long as there is threads available for adjustment.)

You need to lower it at a minimum, so the spring must be decompressed; otherwise, the damping could be too soft

Being Titanium they are much lighter, but still far too soft - even for the road.

I had a Ferrari mechanic lower my 430 around 3/4 inch IIRC on the stock springs. It's plenty low, if not too low. This was done at least a dozen years ago. No adverse effects noticed of any kind, other than scraping the front bumper occasionally. I'll try to find a photo.
