    Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had had a similar issue with their 355.

The brake pedal is very firm and the brakes barely work, suspected that the servos are not working.

At the same time the brake lights are on constantantly even if the brake pedal is not depressed.

The radiator fan fuse was badly burnt on the casing but the fuse was intact

The pop up headlights are struggling to come up but very noisy.

All these issues happened at the same time.

The brake warning light and Abs warning light also have come on.

I am guessing they are all interlinked given they happened together, replaced the fuse but as the original wasn't popped it made no different.

    Anyone had a similar experience!?

    Thanks in advance

Do you mean the brake lights at the rear of the car? Is your pedal at a normal height? i.e. the same level as the clutch pedal. Do you have an air gap between the pedal and the pedal switch with the pedal not pushed?

The brake warning light comes on for the follow on a '95 car:

    Low brake fluid quantity
    Front brake pad wear
    Low ABS pump pressure

Could be a faulty pressure switch, but with all the other symptoms, I'd say unlikely. Is the ABS pump running constantly or not at all... or does it cycle on and off?

There are two radiator fans. Which fan fuse was burnt? The burnt fuse casing suggests there is a high resistance between the fuse prongs and the relay board.

But they are very busy .

If you want a place to start from a DIY pov I would be looking at the ABS module , LHS front wing .

On my 348 you hear it run a few sec s when you turn the key ….kinda charge up .

Back up. What year ? 1995, 1996? Do you have Teves or Bosch ABS?

Don't assume we know everything about your secret car?

If it’s the ABS module, I have a spare I’m happy to sell

Hello, I'm not sure which fan it was as a mechanic had a quick look and changed it but it made no difference obviously. Yeah the rear brakes lights are on constantly, pedal height fine but very hard to press it, I thought the fluid had drained at first but it's not.

    Car is a 1996 5.2. Motronic.

Pop up lights are making a bizzare noise too since this happened it's all really odd. Was wondering if the fuse board may have delaminated to cause it. Maybe?!

So far there are two issues I can identify:

    1. Your Teves brake ABS system has given up the ghost. It's why the ABS and the Brake light are on. Possible problems are ABS fuses at the right side of the car in the front trunk. Corrosion or bad connections to those fuses and relay would cause the ABS pump on the left side of the frunk to stop working causing the warning light to come up. A firm brake pedal but weak braking is another clue. Fix this before you drive it.

    2. Possibly both radiator fans (left and right side, engine compartment in the wheel wells) are drawing too much current. When they do this, they don't burn the fuse, they just overheat the fuse connection to the board and it looks like this (3rd position from the left, bottom row). The fix is to replace the fans with new fans, and clean up / replace the fuses and any collateral damages to the board.

Other issues may have to do with a weak battery, corrosion at the battery connections to the fuse board.

Finally, let's hope it's all connection related and not hardware failure. The Teves ABS master cylinder and pump modules are very very expensive IF you can find them.

Thanks. Your profile says you own a '95 F355. You might want to amend that. So, just to confirm, you have a single CEL and SLOW DOWN light when you turn on the key?

The rear brake lights are controlled by the switch on the brake pedal and have nothing to do with your current brake issue. Make sure it is adjusted properly. The switch plunger must be depressed when the brake pedal not pushed.

If it is already adusted properly, then you may have a broken switch.

Also confirm that it is your brake lights which are on, not the rear fog light or parking lights.

If you have a Teves brake system, make sure no one has put a test fuse in the slot near the "relay" with the white dot on it (in the frunk)

The slot should be empty as shown in the photo.
