have read some of the threads on this subject in various places across the site, but there never seems to be enough clarity as to whether the company does a universally approved good job, whether they get the ecu changes right, whether it is good long term, whether they are still in business, whether its better to buy a kit and have your local guy do it, or send it to them to install etc etc.

can we have one thread where this info is collected?

I’ve been following this area for the past six years and if/when I buy a kit for my F430 it will be from Cambio Manuale.

    https://gatedconversion.com/

I like that they offer multiple options (brake fluid, F1, keep e-diff, or not, reconfigure dash) and I’ve never heard a negative regarding their products or service.

It sounds like from the original post @ross is looking for a company that does the actual conversions, not a company that supplies kits.

in my particular instance, i am considering a switch on my 430 if/when the F1 system gives out.
but, i have friends who have done the conversion on 360's and 575's as well, so i imagine that there are companies that do a competent job across all these models.

my objective in starting this thread is to assemble all relevant info in one thread since i found it so tedious to go searching everywhere on the site.
so those who have done the swap, please indulge us with the details of your experience and specifically who did what etc.

The EAG thread has been quite since Nov. '24 - but it may not be relevant to the question asked here, as far as I understand.

Actually some of the EAG threads have mentions of shops and people doing it the RIGHT way.

Not having done one or driven one ...solely based on research ...exotic car would be my first choice

I know Will and Sandy from car shows etc and know a few people who service there ..very meticulous in every way so I would imagine his conversions are all perfect

I believe he uses Dr S ..which he is truly a gentleman and responses very quickly

Dominick ..we met in Naples in Feb

No skin in the game ..just what I would do if I was planning it

    Universal in Long Island.

    I did a 430, it’s great.

exoticars fixed a bunch of stuff in my car and it works like a charm now.

Well; I did my own swap using Cambio Manuale's kit (former Dr.S) and I am very happy. It is not too difficult, just time consuming. I highly recommend it; if you can't do it yourself, reach out to George and he will most likely find a shop close enough to you to do it (if you don't already have a trusted mechanic).

It is a pretty much turn key solution, with instrument cluster taken care of, and options included to keep the E-diff (highly recommended) or remove it all together.
If you want more information on how it went, feel free to reach out to me directly; happy to chat.

The answer is Exoticars. Worth shipping if you aren't local.

Did my oem swap myself with no issues. Happy I didn't have to deal with some of the sketchy players that seem to be drawn to this segment of cars. I've used parts from Modena Lucerna and DR. S in previous iterations of my swap back when it was more of a hodge podge and they were both of stellar quality.

I did one myself on a 360 as a "test mule" and it is pretty straight forward.

I still have the CNC file for the cable bracket that gets mounted on the transmission. I was machining them myself.

Installing it was the easy part. Sourcing and making parts was the hard part. Thankfully i had a couple brilliant friends who helped immensely. Unfortunately when I started my conversion, EAG was the only one doing kits which there was no way I would let them anywhere near my car. Also their $35k price point at the time was laughable.

Honestly, at this stage in the game of manual conversions, there are so many options and players that as long as people do proper research they should be fine.

Only issue I see a lot of people potentially running into is forgetting to change the o rings behind the TOB flange if they are running brake fluid. Sounds like a few installers were not doing that. Doesn't help that a number of parts suppliers had the wrong seals listed for a while, because the F1 and manual ones are most definitely not interchangeable.

Lol, really that's not far from the truth! :)

I've been working on cars since I was a kid but really anyone with some skills can do it. If you can do a clutch on a 360 you can do the swap.
