First impression

I tested a 2023 296GTB today and was very pleasantly surprised. I had totally lost interest in cars after I started flying but I always loved the Dino as a kid and when I saw the GTB pictures a few years ago I was thinking that I might want to look at it. The price seemed very high to me but today's used market made me reconsider that and so I went... First impression in sitting down inside was that it was PERFECT in size, visibility, positioning, just everything was right. Then I had the usual "where is the button"... Even though I had read the manual before going, I couldn't get the volume up on the radio (the button I pressed behind the wheel switched songs played but didn't change volume). I HATED the Car Play interface and would never use it... but really, who cares with a car that handles this well, accelerates this fast and brakes so well. It was just INCREDIBLE to me... The site was really interesting to learn before trying and I wanted to say thanks to all for all the great content. All the best JM

 

I will buy one more than likely. I told the dealer that if they get me an allocation for a speciale after I buy one that he has in stock, I will buy from them. Otherwise since they are all still under warranty I'll buy somewhere else. I think that they want my business but until a deal is done nothing is done... But what a car! And the dealer (Fort Lauderdale) was a very pleasant place to be. MUCH better than the dealer in England where I bought my first one 20+ years ago...
