If we lived somewhere else, I would love to have a black car. That is so beautiful! But here, it is only beautiful the moment it is washed and then the dust hits. :(

Maybe if I had a full time car detail guy who detailed after every drive…

A 12 Cilindri coupe with a twist; it was ordered in the Spider launch paint color Verde Toscana. For the interior Cuoio leather with Verde accents. Note the lack of fender shields to for a clean look.

Do you have any pictures of the car with the front nose stripe in Carbon?

And pictures of the side wing mirrors in Carbon? Is the entire wing mirror in unpainted Carbon or is half painted with the exterior body color?

    Many thanks.

I’d like your opinion on a spec I’m considering for the 12 C spider.
If the exterior color is Nero ds then which nose stripe would be more interesting; the standard which is gloss black plexiglass or the carbon fiber stripe upgrade?

Depends if you want to draw attention to the nose band or want it to blend in. I personally like the carbon look for the nose, the below doors trim panel and for the diffuser to. Going the other way with black nose and costly gloss black paint instead of carbon for the other parts strikes me as very poor value for what you get compared to the fine looking carbon trim. Considering they started off with 'you can't touch the nose band' to yes we will offer a carbon version seems like a win!

Can you get the winglets and rear black bit in carbon as well? If yes, I would do the carbon front band, if not, then Id keep it matching the black of the back bits

Yes the rear spoiler lip is shown in carbon here. The winglets will be offered in carbon to.
Also a view of the carbon front spoiler as displayed on one of the press cars.

Thanks! I was trying to go against the designers two tone look.

Leaving the rear of the car as is, that’s works for me better than having this severe color cut line. Also not a fan of two tone roof.

The nose of the car might be interesting with the contrasting carbon fiber.

Ferrari carbon fiber is pretty dark black with the weave pattern showing. I wonder if the carbon will turn brown with sun and time. That would be a worse look!

My question regarding Ferrari Carbon is based on my prior experience with large exposed panels.
My 458 had a rear trim panel in carbon bridgin the tail lights. That piece became faded and looked less black and more gray.

The F8 spider has factory carbon on the front bumper insert and S duct as well as the manta ray gills on the rear deck lid. That carbon is darker and seems to resist fading after 4 years.

Perhaps the Factory carbon has undergone some improvements in color weathering?

If I wanted a little more contrast with Nero Ds paint then the Factory Carbon stripe is a consideration.

Its interesting to me the pattern is grid like as opposed to a diagonal weave, this looks nice.

I personally think that the standard no change black stripe is perfectly matched to virtually all exterior colors. The tail feather are also done in this glossy back and so is the roof and bottom half of the side mirrors.

Changing all to Factory carbon is expensive for not much aesthetic gain. Again my opinion is based on the fact that this body design is a departure from the older cars which typically evoke the instantly recognizable face of a Ferrari.

So for me, I must either accept the design or else go Nero Ds to match the no change trim parts

My other question about the interior of the 12C.
The standard is Alcantara in the lower dash.
If one opts for a leather lower dash , then the litttle bit which has the “12 Cilindri” logo remains in Alcantara. This is not changeable to leather. I guess it would look ok. The rest of my interior has been upgraded to leather which include lower cockpit . That the door panels and armrest and wrap around behind the seats. And of course the center of the seat which is all electric.

The design team is doing what the Italian mens fashion is doing . Breaking a suit. Breaking away from leather. Even with the leather center seat upgrade there are small accents which must remain in Alcantara.

    Ok Break the interior. Spezzato

Because they have an option (that is 2/3 the cost of carbon) to paint all the plastic bits for you in Nero ds (or your pick of a couple of greys). Follow the $$$...
