This will be a long one, only read if you're incredibly bored. I'm asking for help here because I don't know anyone IRL that's more Ferrari obsessed than you guys :).

So I know the general spec I'm going with. I want the classic Ferrari racecar spec with red paint and blue alcantara interior (SP3 launch spec basically.) It's the details that I need help with. I'm also not looking to go all out, so no Atelier or TM. Here's my spec so far:
    Image Unavailable, Please Login

    Exterior:
    1. Paint:
The hardest choice. I'm looking for a deep, very metallic red that looks alive. From what I've seen Rosso Magma fits that description best. Examples of what I'm looking for:
    Image Unavailable, Please Login
    Image Unavailable, Please Login
    Image Unavailable, Please Login

These are all, to my knowledge, Magma. However, in some other photos Magma has a dull look, and in some other an orange hue which I don't care for. Examples:
    Image Unavailable, Please Login
    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Other candidates include Rosso Maranello and Rosso Supercar. I've only seen Supercar IRL. I've thought about cutting costs here but the only cheaper metallic red is Rosso Imola and I don't care for it, so it seems these are my only options. I want the thoughts of those who've seen plenty of all of them.

    2. Brake Calipers: Black, Silver, or unpainted? I like unpainted because it fades into the background best, pulling the focus to the wheel design. Black does so less effectively but looks more refined. SIlver would go well with the stripe I have in mind (didn't spec one because I don't like the options, will do my own with colored ppf or peelable paint. Think 458 speciale launch stripes.)

    3. Shields: I like the look of painted shields. However I also like the idea of being able to replace the "standard" shield with CF or paint-matched ones, in case I wanted to remove all the yellow traces from the exterior.

    Interior:

    Here's my spec first:

    4. Alcantara color: I'm looking for a very rich, true blue. The richer the better. Examples:

I currently specced Blu Elettrico, but in the configurator and the dealer sample it looks a little darker than what I want. Azzuro Dino is another option but it's a little too... desaturated? I'm basically trying to match the blue hue of the 4-point harness. Here are 2 pictures I took with it, the 1st is Elettrico and the 2nd is Dino:

    5. Seat choice: This might be a deal breaker if I get wrong. I recently bought a Pista and the bucket seat side bolsters dig into my shoulder blades in just the wrong spot that I feel a moderate amount of pain after just 10 minutes of driving (They're size Large). A year ago I test drove a 296 AF with the new buckets for a couple of hours, I don't remember the experience well but I don't recall them being that comfortable either. The new best weight seats don't seem to have a pronounced protrusion like the older ones, but there's just no way to tell unless I spend a good amount of time driving in them. In comparison the standard 296 seats are among the most comfortable I tried in any car. I'm just hoping anyone can provide any useful info about the seats.

I also wanted to do the square pattern and scuderia shield on the seats. Does anyone know if these options are available on the best weights, or only on the "standard" buckets?

I think Magma fits what you describe best. Having owned magma and Maranello…the last two pics of magma have no real world degree of accuracy. They look bad, and it never looks like that. The top 3 are a little over saturated, but closer to the real deal. I’ve thought about brakes as well. I’ve had black, silver, and yellow, telling myself I’d never do black again because it’s boring to me, and yellow shouts more, but fits the car. Unpainted is rather meh. Doesn’t look right, better off with black. As far as shields, if you want to replace them, then obviously don’t paint them. I’m leaning towards painted myself.

I am not sure about the 4 point restraints though, this is a street car. Definitely not a track car. I know it's supposed to be more aggressive but it will and should spend most of its time on the road. Looks cool though.

What he said. I’d do best weight seats in electrico.

how do you like the Pista vs 296?

I do love these deep reds, so beautiful. The blue interiors are very nice as well.

I'm not getting them, I didn't update the spec yet. I intentionally got a Pista with 4-points to test it out and now I can say I definitely don't want them in any car again.

I liked the 296 more :), unfortunately lost mine in a crash. I went with a Pista because I didn't wanna lose any more money and it's the least depreciating car I can afford right now. Plus since the Speciale's coming I thought it'll be nice to have a taste of what I'll get, and to be able to compare them back-to-back later too.

The Pista does feel more predictable near the limit though, as if the electronics were doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the 296 while the Pista is more inherently balanced without the need for help.

Electrico looked washed out to me on the sp3 seats. I really like the Dino ones. Seems like a richer blue.

I have spec'f Rosso F1 2007, Fuoco (3 times), Magma, Portofino, Fiorano, Imola, and Corsa (2). By far, I have gotten the most positive comments about Fuoco. I have been looking for the right car to apply something like a metallic multi-layer Rubino. Half of my cars are other colors than Rosso. That was never planned, just went with what I liked in the design.

Do you have any pics of cars with Dino alcantara interiors? I can't find any.

I've seen some SP3's specced in "Blu Super Elettrico" alcantara. I guess that's the rich blue I'm looking for, but it's not attainable without doing Atelier or TM unfortunately.

Fuoco has a distinctly orange cast in sunlight. Love fuoco but don’t think the OP wants any orange…

For more of a pure classic look the Rosso Cordoba paint color. This was a favorite among the many many build specifications I've seen here!

    - this build was actually done as a tribute to a 1960's Ferrari race car. The combination of leather with cloth inserts was a design characteristic of the 1960's race car.

    I
have Rosso libano coming in September on the PS. Is the Blu Elettrico available now the same as the TM was? My dealer has a sample of it as well as the Dino. I think it is a newer color.

The old Blu Elettrico paint from tailor made was different from the current version.
Rosso Libano is spectacular, great paint color choice you will have!

That blue alcantara looks amazing. That’s what I was referring to with blu Elettrico, the fabric, but maybe the “super” makes a difference.

Why do you guys not recommend the 4-point belts? Are they really that unpractical?

I went down the red rabbit hole on my 296 and the two winners for me were magma and Maranello. Maranello has more of a mica effect and is less heavy on the metallic vs Magma. My dealer was heavy in the Maranello camp. I’m glad I got it since it suits the 296 well, but for the Speciale, which is a louder and mor visually poppy car, I’d go for the louder red (magma).
