This is poorly documented - marketing revenue is reported to have increased, but how is that certainly linked to Hamilton ? The €70M figure seems to be a questionable guesstimate... (it's reasonable to assume Hamiton provides some increase, given his popularity, but to which extent is not clear, even "taking other things into consideration"). Besides, a ROI is not based on revenue, it's based on profit (although marketing revenue has probably low expenses associated, so that profit should not be that far away from the revenue in this case).
Maybe so but the real question about those numbers (if they are indeed factual) is when were they made? I'd venture to guess that any additional revenue streams, additional cash flow came very early when the promise of Lewis improving the team was still believed. Now that the reality has set om whose paying for this embarrassing mediocrity? You think HP would have stroked the same check had they know the team was going to be a laughing stock? Who's buying merch in droves for a midfielder? Hell, even all those new Instagram followers are now bashing Ferrari on every single post for Lewis's failure to perform. It's gotten so bad for Ferrari on Instagram that they resorted to posting images from old races and past wins. People aren't buying it though and 90% of the comments are pure hate. All those new Lewis fans aren't pointing the finger at their Messiah, they are pointing it at Ferrari. Even to the point that they really believe Ferrari is purposely sabotaging him. Money always comes with hype but it only stays with results. If Ferrari and Lewis don't turn things around quick they will suffer the same fate as his non meat burger and non alcoholic tequila ventures.
My guess is that he would have thrown him out of Maranello the moment he saw him dressed like The Godfather pretending to be, don’t know if aspirationally elegant, or powerful or something that sounded perfect in his head but to anyone else was more of a perfect blend between Darth Vader and a jester. It’ll be very interesting to see how the tifosi greet Sir at Monza. He’d better outperform at Zandvoort….no pressure, though.
This is just an article on Ferrari's finances and Hamilton scribbled on top of the headline to get more clicks. The Revenue from F1 payments is the same whether Hamilton exists or not so how they link that to His Lewisness is beyond me Followers on insta? An entirely irrelevant and utterly pointless metric. Hamiltons off track endorsements are not relevant to Ferrari, that's HIS money lol. HP wasn't affiliated with Lewis and was done before Lewis did a single lap with Ferrari by considerable margin. As such, an entirely stupid fluff piece in the summer break desperate for clicks.
Almost like some of us predicted exactly this would happen. But to be fair it's like predicting that water is wet.
"Bas, post: 150230851, member: 61826"This is just an article on Ferrari's finances and Hamilton scribbled on top of the headline to get more clicks. The Revenue from F1 payments is the same whether Hamilton exists or not so how they link that to His Lewisness is beyond me - the article did outline how Ferrari are paid for longevity educating readers on that status for the team. Followers on insta? An entirely irrelevant and utterly pointless metric. - Yet Corporations continue to align themselves with successful/known/popular athlete's with large following on $ocial Media so that utterly counts - sorry but thats beyond proven. Money is being made and spent. U do understand how this all works yes?? Hamiltons off track endorsements are not relevant to Ferrari, that's HIS money lol. - Yet he will garner funds for himself and those associations are evident on the grid and around the team. The relevance is there - do you not see this at all LOL? Its free exposure for those Corporations and benefits Ferrari at large potentially in a financial manner as well. Continued exposure and interest in the team/ cars and brand and F1 as well. HP wasn't affiliated with Lewis and was done before Lewis did a single lap with Ferrari by considerable margin.- Yet again he wears their logo and garners exposure on his social media accounts for HP LOL. Again do some research on the literal financial effect of these associations. Its 2025 not 1995. As such, an entirely stupid fluff piece in the summer break desperate for clicks.-- Sure slow news period but the numbers are adding up and its being reported in multiple markets. All of this. Not the first article outlining his financial impact thus far. He had impact the day he was announced. Did someone kick your puppy lol [/QUOTE]
In other news, Mercedes F1 revenue grew in 2024 in spite of (because ? ) the February announcement of Hamilton leaving them in 2025: https://www.planetf1.com/news/mercedes-net-worth-finances-f1-2024
Perhaps those who's compensation is tied to his performance? Curiously quiet during the summer break.
That prick managed the remarkable achievement of wasting 3 races in one day: his own by crashing, Leclerc's by triggering a safety car at the worst moment and his race at Monza by incurring into a penalty IN THE FORMATION LAP. I knew Hamilton wouldn't make any miracle, but at least he should be doing the decent results that one can expect from a veteran. That mother****er is exceeding my worst expectations. At least he has not tried to put the blame on the team, or crashed with his team mate. YET. P.S. Yes, not happy here.
I was just about to post…. Which driver…….. 1. Gets a next race grid penalty before the race has started 2. Crashes out of the race unassisted 3. Simultaneously destroys his team’s #1’s race strategy with the bonus of putting said #1 in a position to be crashed out by a red misted rookie 4. All of the above leads to massive work for his team before their home GP.
Fleet Street to the rescue! I didn’t bother to waste my monthly “free look” on this. Image Unavailable, Please Login
He has got to go. Hiring him has set the team back even more. Time to cut our losses. Whenever he doesn’t feel he can win he just mentally checks out and doesn’t try his best. That’s what this crash was today. Mentally he was just phoning it in and got caught out in a brain fart. No one holds him accountable and everyone coddles him. I hope he gets booed at Monza.
