Did a launch tonight in the LT and with only 100 degrees in the tires it just went. The Continental ExtremeContact 2s on the cars are fantastic tires. Makes me want to try them on the 296 and see if it helps with grip.

What tires are on your 296? I love Michelins.

Michelins. But funnily; when I tossed the same (michelin) tires onto my 765 they spun a lot. These Contis are a significant improvement. And I like their profile.

Which Michelins? The Cup2 or 2R are stickier than the 4S. I think these are the top of the food chain.

I have Contis on my Taycan Turbo S. I like them.

4S comes on the Ferrari (no AF pack). I like Cup 2 but they're a bit compromised for street driving. I think these contis are pretty incredible. Boy has the brand come a long way.

Very good considering the DA of 3200. I think 7.8 seconds 0-130 is doable for sure with 1000 DA or below.

    0-200 was 7.47 (4.44 100-200) and 1/8 mile was 6.65 at 116.5 mph.

@Jo Sta7 Thank you for the continued data in this thread. Have you swapped for the Continentals yet? I was unaware that the brand is not only making a decent tire these days, but apparently a very good tire! Don't rush to swap for our amusement, but if you end up doing so, please let us know your findings.

Thanks, dude. This thread has been great fun to read, and even after 25 pages its still going strong. Also thanks to everyone else who has contributed. I really enjoy reading these in-depth firsthand ownership experiences.

I had to research this the other day after catching up on the thread. Adding it to my vocab to make myself sound smarter, and will not be answering any questions if asked. "Chat GHB it, bro"

That's great, Jo! For comparison's sake, my SF90 went 0-200km/h in 7.17 in 647' DA on PS4S and 22" wheels. You'll certainly improve your times in better DA.

In the lighting of my garage I noticed a quarter inched size paint defect blot on the roof the car, clearly under the PPF, with visible scratches near it (under phone lighting). You’d never be able to see this in the day but under perfect down lighting you can from a side angle. Tsk

When I was shopping for a car there was a GTB with the AF package that had a paint defect on the roof. Did you buy that car? They told me about the defect.

I have heard of paint damage during transport but this is even more ridiculous. No QC! No accountability. I am not even sure what the remediation is. Would you be open to getting the roof resprayed?

Well, I just noticed it and I’ve had the car for a year. So it’s barely visible. It’s clearly nothing I did as I had it PPFd at my dealer prior to delivery. I wish they’d have caught it but given the exact conditions I had the car in to see it, I can see how it was missed. I’ll probably tell my dealer to remove the PPF and paint correct and then replace and see what happens. It might buff out. I could take it to my local shop to do it, but I believe the dealer owes me it.

I could always have a gloss black wrap installed rather than PPF, it’s a good look on the car.

On the subject of future maintenance cost unknowns for the 296 being out of line or A Typical for Ferrari, a good friend of mine just dropped $23k to service the engine on his F12 and change the spark plugs lol. I think the 296 will be just fine as far as Ferrari's go. Hybrids have been around a long time. I don't think there's a cost boogeyman hanging around the corner for any perspective buyer beyond what should concern them for any other out of warranty Ferrari.

agreed. I've said this before too that back in the day the older ferrari's were expensive to maintain and still are. imagine the engine out serivce for the older cars or the tranny sensor/fault issue in the 458 or the Lusso AWD transmission. it's all relative. the only issue i have is the lack of sound for all the new cars. I don't know how to solve it without additional expense (exhaust), warranty headaches or worried about civil citations with law enforcement cracking down on it. the regulators need to do a rethink.

Jo, I wrapped my roof in carbon fiber wrap. You might like it. Matches my exterior carbon bits.
I just took it out tonight for a drive. Normally I use manual race mode, car is super quick and composed. Tonight I thought I'd be adventurous and try CT off. Holy moly, that thing gets wild. 2nd gear you're spinning, 3rd gear tires are barely holding on. Then I realized I was in performance mode. Can't imagine qualify add another 50hp or so. This thing is insane. I thought I was not easily scared, I'm scared.
