How can Palestinians GET democracy when there is no 'nation' recognised to organise free and fair elections? Hamas arose as a resistance to the Israel occupation - remove the occupation and give democracy a chance.
Yes, not to many Buddhist's binding up women and children and murdering them in the street, and burning the houses. That's the way to get elected, bit like the night of the long knives in 1934, kill anyone that doesn't agree or stands in the way. I personally could care less what they do over there, they have been killing one another over there for as long as I've been alive, just after the war I think it started 48/49??. I seem to also remember that if there was a terrorist attack in the 80's, an airliner and or ship hijacking most of the time, it was a palestinian group........... why is that I wonder. They say on recent calculations there are approximately 2 billion Muslims on the planet, and, not all are extremists I agree, just like not all Germans were Nazi's. However, these extremist's interpretation of the Quran and Sharia law justifies their beastly actions in their twisted heads. So if less than 1% of this group are out to cause violence and murder that's around 16 million nasties to keep an eye on.
I watched a thing on YouTube a while back which sort to explain the tensions between Palestine and Israel. It began something like this: to understand this we need to go back to, I think, 1500bc...
Palestine has existed since biblical times; Israel since the British recognised it in 1917 when they controlled the area, and it was ratified by the UN in 1947 - both have a right to their areas and both have behaved badly at times. It is ALWAYS the politicians fault, and the ordinary people on both sides who suffer.
Good advice. Think I’ll pour a drink and go for a swim instead. Bloody hot here today! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some Karen telling the crowd,October 7th was "HOAX"...does she also support baby killers from that date ? Just asking Image Unavailable, Please Login
$11.5 million was the apparent cost to the public purse for the Flag burners to protest over the Sydney Harbor Bridge, what a disgrace. Then I read some stupid girl harasses a woman holding an Israeli flag outside the gates of Auschwitz Birkenau for the millions of the Jewish population that perished there. There were three parts of the camp, Auschwitz 1, slave labour for the factories of IG Faben and a rubber factory still running today I think, Auschwitz 2 Birkenau- Extermiation camp had four large gas chambers holding 2000 people each, and ran 24/7. and Auschwitz Monowitz 3 slave labour camp. She was taking a Jewish school group through on a remembrance educational tour. At that time, in that place,...............WTF, how easily are the truths of the horrors that were perpetrated there and all the other death camps are so quickly forgotten, and they thought Goebbels was a master of propaganda! He's an amateur compare to the media today. And these gullible toadies swallow it hook line and sinker.
I had a chat with a guy last year, he knew quite a lot about the subject. Hamas is the problem, and the hatred they've indoctrinated for the Jews runs very, very deep, it starts early at schools even. Their terrorist attacks modus operandi has been the same for many many years, including the use of children. Strap a bomb to them, and order the kids to walk towards the Isreali side. Get close enough, press detonate. Israel then has to do one thing or the other, both awful decisions. When they do the unthinkable, the Hamas side has it all on video and parades it around for the world to see and plays victim. This is all widely known but not spoken of so much. They commit terrorist attacks then hide under public areas, so when a retaliation happens they play their victim card as per usual. October 7th 2023 we saw people celebrate it like they just won the lottery. (just like September 11th, mind you). Oh how happy they were. After the FAFO moment it's crocodile tears again. The guy is was speaking to is Palestinian. HE was welcomed into Israel. The other way around? Doesn't happen. Nethanyahu has retaliated strongly but it was the only option. You can't negotiate with terrorists. He doesn't like killing innocents any more than he likes seeing his own citizens get killed time and time again. Ask yourself the question, why do NONE of the surrounding Muslim countries accept Palestinian refugees?
I don't often post, as I prefer to read instead of commenting. Having been to Auschwitz several years ago what piqued my interest was the ovens used which was next to a largish room that was reportedly used as a gas chamber. The room was approx 20 mtrs x 10 mtrs - not sure how many people could fit. Perhaps someone could do a calculation. Whilst we were not shown any other rooms/ovens facilities, it is likely that other rooms/ovens existed in other parts of the camp. There was also another area for executions by shooting between two accommodation blocks which was about 9 Mtrs wide. I come from a technical background in combustion cooking, both commercial and domestic. The ovens used (at least the ones shown to me) were circa 4.0 mtrs wide and 5.0 mtrs deep. In effect they were nothing more than catering ovens that you would see at a craft bakery in Australia. There were two of them and it was explained that another one had been removed. I don't recall seeing gas piping to them (it may have been there but I am not sure). In the absence of gas they would have used timber in the 1940's. What I do remember is that I was bewildered that such small catering ovens could incinerate so many people.
Those ove The ovens and "gas chamber" you saw were installed by the Russians after the war. The Nazis demolished the actual chambers and crematorium to remove incriminating evidence.
I am NOT defending Hamas! Palestinian people have been sold down the river for a hundred years; by the Brits, by the UN, by the PLA, and by Hamas. This is what you get when there is a VOID due to no PROCESS for rational elections. Hamas should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for the October atrocities - BUT has Netanyahu's military response been appropriate? Even the families of the hostages don't seem to agree...
The Palestinian people voted for Hamas. They celebrated in the streets on October 7. They celebrated in the streets on 9/11. F*ck 'em.
Bourke St Mall Melbourne just now. They predicted 500, I’m guessing 10,000. All peaceful except for the Pro Palestine supporters on the sidelines hurling abuse, several wearing tshirts emblazoned with “Abolish Australia”: ” Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's a tragedy when an innocent child has to pay for the sins of the parents, but it's the parents' fault. Don't poke the bear.

And because of that, as well as attitudes on the other side, I can’t see any solution to this conflict, which makes the weekly pro Palestinian protests completely pointless. Massive waste of public resources, huge Police presence in Melbourne today, the CBD was basically in lockdown. Several retailers and restaurants shut their businesses today as they were concerned about rioting. And what has been achieved? More division in this country. I don’t ever remember a time when flying an Australian flag would cause division.
