The air filter box on my 1990 Mondial t has a 1/2 inch nipple on the bottom half of it without a hose attached.
Anyone know what this missing hose might have been attached to? Perhaps removed as an emissions issue?
    Thanks,

I don’t recall that on mine. Do you have a picture of the location? I can check tonight.

Thanks for the diagram - I have looked at this diagram before but don't have anything like the those hose connections on my engine now. Here is another pic of a hose going to nowhere that is attached to nipples underneath each of the large air intake tubes. My thought is the original connections were removed.

The missing hose connections seems to be parts of the air injection for the catalysts. No cats, no need for them.
BTW, here is the reason (pic) the 1-4 Slow Down light stayed on - broken off temp sensor on that side. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Are all of the other vacuum lines, valves and charcoal canister still present? If so, where do they terminate or are they open or looped together? How did they cap off the air pipe holes? Might be good to make sure there are no vacuum leaks and maybe cap off the air box holes to prevent unmetered air.

After closing off those unecessary connections, I did find a vacuum line that had pulled loose. Fixed that and now the engine is running great! Probably because I had found these troubles after cleaning the MAF's. Image Unavailable, Please Login
