    Hello there,

I am looking for a 360 driver, and recent sales for coupes on BaT has me asking a few questions on options. Personally I like a no shields car, however, on the used car market, getting all the options I want are hard.

This base car sold for $115k https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-ferrari-360-modena-58/

    This car didn't sell at 88K https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-ferrari-360-modena-57/

    ------------------

I have a lead on a car that has the carbon seats and modular wheels. Neither options are a must have for me, but when I see on lists people seem to love them. But are they willing to pay for them?

The seats may be valuable https://bringatrailer.com/listing/seats-134/ but I can't rip the seats out the car and make money, hah!

So my question is, how much value does the seats and the wheels add to a driver 360, if all being equal?

    Thanks

The seats and wheels typically don't seem to add much value to the car, however on their own are worth a pretty penny.

I would say that a car with those items is much more desirable and will add to your ownership experience but the seats are produced in sizes S,M,L so something to ask about. Try to get a photo of the tag or decal that shows the size to verify. The large ones are the most desirable because they fit everyone but if you are a big person the small may not be comfortable. They seem to visually hold up better over time too; where the regular seats with the plush bolster can get tired looking if previous owners were not careful when getting in and out of their car, the more firm edged carbon seats are easier to keep nice IMO.

About the modular wheels...I bought a set 12 years ago that sat on a shelf while I ran the starfish wheels but recently swapped them onto the car. What a difference in my perception about the cars appearance. I am pretty fastidious and OCD about everything on my car and they have transformed me! Small paint imperfections that I know about and little exterior flaws in the paint from using the car are no longer as noticeable with the super busy-to-the-eye modular wheels installed! It's a trip to me but my car looks cleaner and not in need of a detail for a much longer time. This is huge for me. I used to detail the car before and after each drive because I could see the dust and road dirt but now the wheels are so blingy that they take away the focus with light shining off all the surfaces. YMMV but this is a psychological phenomenon that is real for me and wanted to share.

If I were a buyer I wouldn't hesitate to spend 10K more for a car with these items. .02

Wow, I didn't know that people could get manual cars for so little money. That is good for buyers! I've been telling my wife that my car is worth double what I paid for it so she doesn't blink when a big bill comes in or I spend a lot of time working on it because I am "protecting our investment!" lol

    Thank you.

Yeah given, I won't take the parts of the car, just trying to figure out the value.

Yeah the 430 F1 cars are RNM at 108-115K .

Market has been soft.. So I am looking to pull the trigger maybe in 2 weeks or less

thank you so much for the info. I will ask the size of the seat, as I didn't know about that.

Do you know where the Tag will be?

Appreciate the info. Is the offset on the modulars the same as the starfish, or are they more flush with the fenders?

For the seat search is your friend I am not sure.
Wheels should be the same offset if they are OEM made by BBS for Ferrari.

You might be in a good position to get a deal on the red one. Some accident damage turns a lot of people away, but if it was just a scrape or simple repair then it could end up saving you a lot. Make sure you get pictures of the before and after of the accident to get an idea though. Since it's the original owner, he should have those. I think any premium on the seats and wheels might be lost with the damage though so if you don't care for the seats, it will be easy to get some standard ones and put a few grand in your pocket. I wouldn't wait to see if they fit or not before pulling the trigger if you get the right price.

I would LOVE to have gotten a deal on that red one... but owner's expectations seems to be misaligned with the market.. significantly

Ahh, ok. When you mentioned the carbon seats and modular wheels I thought you meant the one from the auction. I think the gent with the red one received a fair price for a vehicle with an accident report but he is the original owner so likely doesn't mind waiting it out. I think the market will catch up to his expectations if he's not eager to sell it.

Well market has been in a calm.. .. and prices haven't been inching upwards at all. I made that gentleman a fair offer, but he didn't want it.

The car I started this thread about is a different color car. No accidents, and half the miles as the red car.

Will see what I end up with.

Having had a 360 (not a CS but a gated 6 speed) that had daytonas in it then I swapped them to the racing seats......racing seats are well worth it imo. You sit lower and "in" the car as opposed to feeling sitting "on" the car. The race seats were more comfortable for me as well.
