Sadly, my father-in-law passed away recently. While clearing out his home, we discovered a substantial collection of Ferrari memorabilia — hundreds of items, most of them untouched and in near-new condition. He was a proud owner of a Ferrari Dino 246 GT and an active member of the Ferrari Owners Club from the 1970s through the late 1990s.

I’ve started listing some of the items on eBay, but given the volume and quality, I’m wondering if it might be better to work with a specialist auction house or dealer who understands this niche and can help place these items in the hands of passionate collectors — ideally Ferrari owners who would truly appreciate them.

Whilst there used to be some specialists who may be interested (one or two of whom have been on here from time to time) the time of selling piecemeal for often relatively low sums (esp 80s/90s items) suggest talking to someone like Iconic about a lump sale

Welcome to the forum, Alan. Condolences on the passing of your father in law.

Perhaps you could organize a general description of what you have: books, parts, yearbooks, manuals, accessories, collectibles, documents, etc. Someone here will be able to help, and you might even find some interested buyers here.

In the meantime, can you post a link to one of your eBay auctions? I’d like to take a look.

My condolences. And I agree with "Jack-the-lad."
Also, I've dealt with numerous auction houses for over 30 years as a consignor and bidder. Be VERY careful with regard to dealing/consigning with any auction house. They are not all equal, and some you should run from. I'd be happy to give you my two cents worth of advice in a private discussion.

Hello Alan. I am interested in any factory produced items(included when the car was delivered--manuals, documents, tools, key fob etc.). Large collections of periodicals are difficult to sell. Drop me a PM and I can offer you an opinion. Best of luck.

    Hello.

Do you have any early Merritt book brochures?

I'd recommend getting together a collection of items and putting them on BAT as a lot. Do what @Jack-the-lad suggested, give us a better idea of what you have and I'm sure we could help you form lots to sell.

Another avenue to take would be reaching out to the folks at a place like OTS. These guys know Ferrari quite well and while they generally deal with the cars themselves, they may be interested in the memorabilia you have and may help you sell it? That could be a stretch, but it's just a thought.

I wouldn't waste my time with eBay. I know you've already put things up there, but eBay takes too much of your earnings, and there's a ton of scammers on that platform.

I'd personally love to help you sell the stuff, but I don't know that I'm the right guy for it. But 70s/80s/90s Ferraris are kinda my jam. I'd probably just want to keep it all. :)

I have started listing on eBay initially and will see how we go i have priced some things using research but you can only sell for what people are willing to pay. i only have left to upload several more things including about 30 keyrings, few watches and a Ferrari Owners leather briefcase which i really don’t know how to price. Oh and i just found a random Ferrari Dino Service Manual on CD-Rom it just Seems to be the gift that keeps giving. For an idea of what i have to sort through and at the request of @Jack-the-lad
