Perhaps a bit reminiscent of the 1974 New York Giants, who went 6-0 in the pre-season (yes, they played 6 back then) and then went 2-12 in the regular season! Oof!
Baltimore has lost - 1 or 2 preseason games in the last 10 years, how'd that work out? Cincinnati won a bunch also, and over the last 3 years are something like 1 - 12 in September, so..... And hasn't KC gone like 2-10 the last 3 seasons in pre-season??? (I may be wrong on that one)
The problem is LV is in a very tough division, and I cannot figure out if Pete Carroll will pull a Joe Gibbs or not - come out of retirement and SUCK. I expect Denver to win the West, and I expect KC to miss the playoffs. PROBLEM is, the other 3 AFC divisions - who will have a better record as far as a wild card is concerned? Cinn? Pitt? NE? LAC? KC? And I'm not all that convinced Buffalo will win the east... Now, the NFC - that's a zoo, anyone can win the NFC West, North, South KC has no vertical passing game, the running game is trash, and if you win a crapload of close games one season, history says the following season you won't be near as lucky. We will see....
Carolina always in discussion for crappiest organization fielding bad teams year after year. And their stadium stinks too.
Why don't we have a poll for the worst team in the league, second worst, third worst? Ties are settled by the total of least points scored and most points allowed combined? Worst teams, with points totals factored in: 1) New Orleans 2) Cleveland 3) Jets 4) Tenn 5) Giants 6) Las Vegas
'bad' teams always seem to win 2-3 games they are not supposed to, 'good' teams always lose a couple of games that are not supposed to.... If Vegas (or any team) loses just a couple of players, in the case of Vegas it would be Maxx, Jeanty, Bowers, they are in trouble. TE Mike Meyers is decent - not sure why they don't use him in a two TE set.... With a mobile QB, Jeanty, Bowers AND Meyers - they scream of a really good short RPO game, and if Jakoby and Cooper are capable, that will force the defenses to play back, opening up the underneath.... we shall see... And because they are in the AFC West if they were to lose even a couple of 'average to good' players, they are really screwed. And I am not sold on KC - I think they have some big issues nobody is talking about.
Coach makes a big difference, it will all come down to O/L and LB play... I think they HAVE talent - on par with, say, AZ - they do look alike, and also, who knows what Brady is teaching them...
That'll only happen with the draft, and they won't be bad enough to draft Top-5 unless some big injuries kill them.
I give higher marks to Boys for the trade. For sure a total org failure but they were not contenders with Parsons and need real QB in 2027 draft. Packers, don’t see them in the SB any time soon so also a bad move. But appreciate they are trying.
No, Jerry Jones = Pack make some noise. I don't understand - Parsons completely disappears in BIG games - games Dallas 'must' win to make the playoffs. Yeah, I know he's been All-Pro for 3 years, I don't think he would do that if he played for anyone besides the Dallas Jonesboys. I LIKE Micah - I just think he's a bit overrated. I feel really bad for Kenny Clark. Does Dallas have an O/L? Does Dallas have any 'real' running backs? They have not had one since Zeke was in his prime, and that's been a LONG while ago, plus, the new HC.... ugh. Just for the heck of it, you should research how well 2,000 yard rushers do the following year. I also know how bad teams do the following season after winning 10~ really close games (KC). I love how Denver is still flying under the radar, and I'm not counting out Carolina - as long as Bryce Young plays at least as good as he did the last half of 2024. I think people are overestimating Buffalo - AND Philly - AND KC. Funny how the pundits are counting out KC 'because Rashee Rice is missing the first six games', they must have forgot he missed most of last season with a knee injury. BUT, AS USUAL, it will come down to injuries - it always does.
How did KC look in the Super Bowl??? The last two games Pacheco played he looked awful, as did Nick Chubb. Maybe they both healed in the off-season. If Coaching matters, Las Vegas should have a helluva season, we know Sean Payton will... How did New England look after Brady left? I thought Belichick was awesome? (LOL) PS - injuries matter. Why don't you play in the 'Pick 'em' pool I listed in the Fantasy thread? How I 'bet' depends on a lot of things: who's hot, who's injured, where the game is, weather, etc. If Miami plays Buffalo IN Buffalo in January, guess who I am not picking? LOL (they aren't) Last game of the season Miami is at New England, BTW, who ya picking?
Like I said coaches matter and I wouldn’t bet against either of those programs. Pete is old but should improve the culture for the long term. Love his energy. I’m most curious what Ben does with Caleb who I’m not convinced can play as a top 10 qb. imo jets have no hope.
I 1000% agree with you about Caleb. He can't read a defense, hopefully he can read a book... Baggett looked better, but he's not going to win your division for you, but SHOULD have a decent job as a career backup. A great Head Coach surrounds themselves with great Assistants, and as long as the Owner stays T F out of the way, they usually do well. Just remember - great Coaches start somewhere, they are not initially hired already 'Great'. We could spend days talking about GREAT Assistants that totally SUCKED as Head Coaches.... Almost every Assistant hired away from New England to be a HC has sucked, and there's a TON of them. (For clarity, a 'Coordinator' is an 'Assistant' for the purposes of this conversation) The Jets' record depends on the legs of Justin Fields. I am also not convinced Breece Hall will last all season, likewise with Garrett Wilson.... the Jets have nobody else.
Fields cannot throw the ball. Insane move by Jets to bring him in, dumber than Steelers and that’s saying a lot.
Why don't you see the Pack as a possible SB team? For each team, all it takes is one KEY injury, most teams seem to get two of them. Pete is just a placeholder for Chip Kelly to take over in a year or two. Caleb has perhaps more offensive weapons than any other team, they have just as many as GB, Philly, Rams, SF, I'm not convinced Ben Johnson can/is changing the 'culture', the same way the Redskins culture was changed a year ago.
I dont believe in Love yet as QB. Streaky, not consistent enough. Expecting a lot from Golden as a rookie could be tough.
He was coming off an injury last season, but also lost most of his receiving group to injury as well. And I seriously doubt adding Micah Parsons is an improvement, to me it was a stupid trade. Is Love a Top-10 QB? Today, no, but neither is Purdy, Lawrence, Darnold, Stroud....
