My Purosangue, two days ago dead in the garage like a door knob, I drive it regularly, car is 1 year old always serviced Ferrari had to come and get into it to fix the batterie, how funny is that? You know what wasn’t dead and I have had zero batteries issue with in more than 3 years of ownership and thousands of miles ? All the hybrids! Do you know which car I pick up the keys for when I want to go for a very early morning bash and I know the cars have been sitting for long time? The 992 GT3RS Porsche, that’s the only car I have full confidence in that it will start.
So true! I had no idea and have learned that the hard way, my master tech said the same yesterday when he had to resuscitate my Purosangue.
Install a "Varta "battery in your PS and you will have fewer problems, the original battery is really bad !
That’s true. Supply and demand reigns supreme. The demand part with hybrids is a function of FUD. Eventually, that will lift increasing the demand. IMO.
Great advice, I did install a Varta in my Huracan Performante, I never put the car on tender and zero issues.
A swap to a Varta battery should be offered during PDI. I don't understand all these battery issues with cars that cost more than my home...
I noticed ever since the financial crisis that car batteries are not nearly as realiable. Ive had battery problems with all major marques, typically its bad cells. You will think the battery is just fine, and then, it isn’t. No warning. Your typical battery tenders won’t pick up on it, they will just run their charging cycle a bit quicker. A dealer or independent should have a battery analyzer that will tell you. I now ask them to check the battery on a new car. This way we can get in front of any potential issues.
My Porsche will start after several weeks of sitting, my Lambos were the same. never plugged in. I wouldn't try that with a Ferrari.
I learned after 3k estimate battery replacement on Senna, to use the best battery charger and it will also start a dead battery. It's not the battery - it's the chargers. Every high end car storage uses these - because they work. You need to be careful when sending a full charge - if you all really love your cars spend 500.00 and have a port installed with proper gauge wiring. Otherwise you could start a fire - these factories use small gauge wiring. NOCO will start your dead battery no matter what kind and extend your battery life. CTEk Ferrari tenders etc are the issue, cheap wires electronics etc. Hybrid Ferrari tenders massive improvement on their chargers / cords - it's why no one has problems. I would be great to share what the cause was - 458Speciale is original Catl new battery tech- but solid state / lithium are pretty basic.
I've owned my Huracan Performante since 2018 never put it on tender once, two years ago battery died and I've replaced it with a Varta, it sometimes sits for two months plus, I show it the key and it starts.
The newer tenders are better. They are typically based on the Ctek 3300. I have been using the 7000 model for, wow… I cant believe it 18 years! Aside from 1 unit that was defective right out of the box and one time I forgot it was plugged in and I drove over it.. oops! I never had any problems. These units are more robust and resist brown outs a lot better. The really older Ferrari tenders simply did not output enough power for the car. Some say the 3300 is as good as the 7000, but I am just sticking with what I know. I have also heard good things about the NOCO, and I have one of their portable jumpstarters, and it works perfectly.
Thanks and that makes more sense, batteries are the most basic part of a Ferrari. CatL - will come out with a lighter more powerful battery - well before our warranty expires and guessing 1/2 the price and twice as strong.
Go on Amazon - 150.00 - 500.00 they range from 1 to 25 amps and different voltages and deep cycle batteries. Offers voltage spike protection and cleans the electric going to the port. No other company offers this - Automatically detects battery sulfation and acid stratification to restore lost battery performance for stronger engine starts and extended battery life. Plus, cutting-edge battery repair modes for 6-volt, 12-volt, and 24-volt batteries.
I asked Grok to predict when reviews of 296 will be available based on recent launches of special editions. I also prompted to look at the last 5 years. The answer was similar in q4. Projected Timeline: Based on these precedents, I expect the first media driving reviews for the 296 Speciale to emerge between September 2025 (5 months post-April unveil, aligning with SF90 XX) and January 2026 (9 months, like the F80). Given that no reviews are available as of September 3, 2025, and production ramps up in early 2026, a more conservative estimate leans toward late 2025 (e.g., November-December) for initial impressions from outlets like MotorTrend, Car and Driver, or Top Gear.
And the magic has quickly disappeared and turned to despair. Dreaded 10 code salute + turtle mode yesterday morning. Car went to dealer. Stay tuned...
Sorry to hear. if i understand correctly, it is throwing multiple codes and wont start? If so a dead battery. Keep us posted.
