Importing

Good luck buying parts from other countries and getting them thru customs. I’ve had nothing but issues lately. Most recent is a set of pedals and shift gate from Hill Engineering.
No luck with US customs. Good luck to you guys, it has become very difficult.

 

It just keeps getting crazier

 

The parts have been stuck in customs for weeks. First they needed paperwork on the materials (provided by Hill) that was weeks ago. Now customs is confused about the pricing. Today I got an email stating the parts were being sent back because of some issue with the declared value or something. I also had a hell of a time getting my seats out of customs, not to mention the huge bill that fed ex sent me for the tariff price of the day.

 

Hill pedals? I might be interested. What shape is your dead pedal?

 

There are two shapes for 348 cars. I’ll buy yours if it’s the right one.

 

FedEx gets used all the time by most of the overseas vendors. Hill engineering has been sending parts to the US for a long time, they used the shipping they have been using for years. Same as the last vendor I bought from in Europe. I’ve been waiting weeks for parts from Asia also, it should have been here in 5 days.
There are new additional issues caused by the new administration that makes importing anything very expensive time consuming and I think its going to kill all these specialty overseas vendors that sell mostly to US buyers.

I can totally see that, difficult to say the least

Lucky to be Canadian these days. I love Canada, just spent a week there.

 

I have also this year. But very recently it’s been worse. It’s going to be more difficult and much more expensive for everybody in the US. Until the policy’s change, could be tomorrow no telling with the current people in charge
