Ferrari 849 Testarossa Styling

Looks like they combined a few of their cars with the worst design esthetics and molded them into one super mess. Don’t love the 296, 12C or the F80 and this feels like they smashed them all into one. I LOVE the 296 Speciale so had real high hopes here. What a let down…..

 

I dont love it though. I just like the basic forms. Look at this quick photoshop where I removed the modern elements. Thats a nice looking shape.

I guess I can kind of see where they may be trying to pay homage to the Testarossa, but overall, it just looks like a smaller iteration of the F80/SP3 body.

And it looks like that front black bar is going to be a new staple of their design going forward, which as someone else said, is acceptable on the 12Cilindri as a Daytona-homage, but why here? From like I've read on the F80/12C, going to assume Ferrari won't let customers remove/"Tailor" it off the car.

Agree in Spider - could order this, but the amount of black plastic on these coupes is insanity.

 

The black stripes are at odds with each other which spoils the flow. The front also looks off to me. I wasn't a huge fan of the SF90 but this one looks worse to my eyes.

 

At the rate we are going, in 50 years the cars will be all black plastic and $2,360,000,000 plus options

Hey lets take a Bb fender line, a sorta daytona front end, throw in some rear p3 styling cues, tie it all together with some straight hard lines, and since clown lips was such a catchy name lest go for fish lips. This us what happens to styling when kids get a hold of a computer. Disjointed is a phrase that come to mind. Elegant it is not. Pininfarina is missed.

The interior looks better than some recent efforts even if it sorta harkens to the vette wall of buttons..

 

you all know what this means right? the 458, the 488, the F8, the 812, the F12 are all going to continue to go up in desirablity and value... no threat of it slowing down This'll just be another hybrid that starts at 500k, sells used the first year or so for 650-800k and then tanks back down to the 4's and 3's... just like the SF90 and 296.

 

Such a Yawn of a car giving the Middle finger to all Testarossa lineage.

The 12 cyl is a non negotiable Testarossa feature and A 3 pedal manual shift would have put the ship right again.

Well no worries, it will be sold out soon to all those soulless rich people who will store it somewhere, and Ferrari will continue to make cars thats ugly with specs and features no one wants.

 

At least now, you can buy the 296 knowing there are no prettier cars in the lineup, and you made the classy choice. Who would have thought?

I agree with you, that’s by far the worse part, if the front was more rounded and ore organic the design would be a hit for me, the rear and side profile I love!

I have no idea why he deigned the front like that.
