you did quote me on corvette part, check the screen shot., I know it is by mistake. no doubt the drive is the most important but emotions from looks and sound come close second or to many ARE most important. Check the 296 speciale, some comented that is boring and lame, bust wast majority liked it, same with competicione etc. The really beautiful things can be argued on matter of taste and preferences, but can't be labeled as ugly. But here my critique stops. Interior is really nice on this one. I did msg Manzoni, haven't received block . Sooner or later he will be past, the brand is way bigger than him, so stick around. Side note, I should have a test drive in 12C soon Image Unavailable, Please Login
@Senad: You are right about the quote, I apologise. I don't know how that happened. I meant to answer to @Tupper about the Corvette.
Good question. At least it can easily be wrapped in different color. Unless it can be specced in carbon isolatedly, I'd leave it be.
no hard feelings, hope i didn't offend you nor anymore else, with anything I wrote. We have to tolerate different opinions, especially those who will give their money for some of these cars.
Not into the sharp lego block look of Ferrari. Additionally, because of regs this car will probably not sound good and I'm guessing 8-900K out the door w/tariffs which is nuts. Here is an example of pure cohesive styling to me. Plenty of power at 640 hp and a ferocious sounding NA V10 that sends chills up your spine. What more do you really need. I'll never let mine go. Time to start collecting backwards. It's not going to get better going forward. Used F-car market has seen some substantial increases on many prior non-hybrid models this year already and that trend will continue. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As you can see, it's basically just a 360 with added "stuff" just to make it new and "fancier" LOL Image Unavailable, Please Login
I made it perfect LOL, you take that terrible front end treatment away the car is perfect. I’ve never I wanted so bad to put an after market front end on a car, the front kills it for me, I hope to be able to “design it out” through a clever spec. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Spot on! That's exactly why I love this brand, modern porsche mclaren lambos just all look the same in my eyes. For me ,12C is also a perfect example that neither photos nor 1:8 1:18 scalemodels would do its justice, you have to see it in person to get impressed.
And CVK should learn from Ferrari how to delivery cars to customers (which actually work) in less than 5 to 10 years after sitting on deposits all that time LOL
There’s was an overwhelmingly negative response to the Dino in ‘73 (not a real Ferrari, unconventional wedge shape, underwhelming V6 performance, poor interior design), Testarossa in ‘84 (too big and wide, odd looking side strakes, not comfortable), and ‘95 F50 (tail too long, cartoonish wing, little performance improvement over F40, and insanely priced). Yet, for all the detractors these cars have become iconic symbols of the brand. As a collector, I don’t buy cars, time pieces, art, etc. based on other people’s opinions. Though I respect each of us likes what we like, I can’t recall a recent debut from competitive brands that was universally adored. With regard to a couple comments about the effect on SF90 XX values, perhaps these folks haven’t studied the brand history. 812 Superfast came with more power than F12 TDF. 12 Cilindri has same as 812 Comp. Yet neither limited car suffered. In fact, both limited series continue to appreciate quite nicely. Same thing for the 458 Speciale with less power than 488 GTB. Pista values have enjoyed a handsome increase despite the F8 having equal power and a refreshed design. SF90 XX’s have done well in the secondary market and won’t be impacted by the 849. Different buyer’s and different price points. If and when limited Ferrari’s no longer pay loyal buyers of everything they make, there will indeed be a cascade of problems. I expect to order an 849 spider, just as I did a 12C spider, 296 SA, and XX. Do I love every element of the 849 design? No, but I could say that about every model I’ve purchased. I enjoy the brand, its history, and the direction it’s headed, despite challenges adapting to asinine environmental regulations. There’s no more compelling brand at this price level than Ferrari. My McLaren’s have been junk and depreciated more than any other brand I’ve owned. My Urus is littered with Audi stickers and stamps everywhere, and two Porsche’s were bought back last year due to significant technical issues.
Hey, if you order a Gemera today you'll have saved yourself half a decade of waiting. Then you'll just have to wait another half a decade to receive your car that may or may not work...
Seeing brands like Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz, brands that have such an illustrious history and back catalogue of beautiful poster-worthy cars, make utter dross like this... How the mighty we truly and dearly love have fallen. Not in the market for a 849 or even the SF90, but someone who thinks a 296 is still a pretty car, I just hope they don't eff it up when it is due for an update in the next two or so years.
if this comes in then you're sitting real pretty in the future, they're going to be worth an absolute fortune!
At $800-900K the car should be stunning and not need front end makeover or dark colors to hide the ugly bits. The SP3- though not perfect- is stunning. LaF- stunning. F40- stunning.F12,F8 and even the lowly 296, and Roma spider are stunning. The 12C is an odd one. F80 and now the 849 are stunningly ugly. posts here argue they are tired of the same old design of Porsche, AM, McL and even the usually outlandish Lambos and feel Ferrari should not copy from it’s past but cut a new path in design. Well I’m sorry but beautiful cars remain beautiful forever. Edgy cars, well…not so much. Case in point the Alfa Romeo 8C- old school looks but thoroughly modern car- achingly beautiful and will be collectible and admired long after combustion engines cars are no longer on the road. If Ferrari made their equivalent of the 8C- the wait time would be 10 years to get one and aftermarket sales would be virtually nonexistent as no one would want to sell them. Same goes for a modern BB or Testarossa- rear mid V12 and stunning. It should look like the car is speeding even when standing still. Sadly the 849 looks like it standing still and will probably do so even while speeding.
I’ve went through the published specs for the new Ferrari 849 Testarossa, and something really stood out. The declared width is listed at 2,304 mm (body, excluding mirrors). If this figure is correct, it would make the 849 wider than any Ferrari road car ever produced — in fact, wider than the SF90, LaFerrari, and even comparable hypercars like the Chiron or Valkyrie. To put it in perspective, that’s about 33 cm wider than the SF90 and even more than the LaFerrari, which seems massive. With mirrors, the car could be close to 2.5 m across! Has anyone else noticed this? Do we know if Ferrari’s published specs are accurate here, or could this be a case of early figures being misinterpreted? Would love to hear your thoughts and if anyone has seen the car in person — does it look as wide as the numbers suggest?
