The replacement mid rear engine Ferrari is the new 849. The design uses the current strategy of Centro Stile. Front stripe is now nothing special. Let’s hope they use it in the Purosangue next. Black plastic trim, also known as Dead Body trim, appears randomly on the exterior. If you wanted an F8 but were denied, then 849 ? If you are on the waiting list for the 12C spider do you switch to the 849 spider?
The metal H style center console is now made to float. Wow that really imaginative design! Looks so elegant too. Maybe the design team will bless the Amalfi spider with a floating H bridge too! Ok I do like it!
There is no coherence in moving from one to the other; the first is the last of the NA V12 family that symbolizes the brand's history, while the other is a hybrid TT V8... it's like comparing rags and towels.
I really didn’t like the interior and driver interface of the 12C. Plus I really struggled with some of the exterior design of the rear end. But that’s just my own preference . It ended up with me doing a black car to mute things. That’s not a good solution. I may decide to pick up a 12C later
(Coherence) I drive and plan to put in at least 50,000 miles. I’m concerned that the current V12s aren’t that durable. No one here has a Modern V12 with 50,000. I know that the V8s such as 458 and F8 and hopefully the 948 can last more than 50,000miles Also I really didn’t like a lot of the exterior and interior design So why buy a dream car which isn’t actually my dream car. This door is closing for me but opening for another. So I’m sure my dealer will give a call to a hopeful buyer on the waiting list and make their car dream come true. But thats why I’m changing to the 948 Spider
I know the V12 is the legacy of Ferrari That’s how the brand was successful in sports car racing and later in F1 F1 turned its back on the v12 engine and now we are racing with 6 Cilindri and not 12 Cilindri. LeMans has also closed the door on V12s many many years ago. Ferrari stands on the podium again at Le Mans . But not with 12 Cilindri glory either. 6 Cilindri plus electric motor (s) power.
They hacked your account F-chat ? The V12 will take you to 300,000 km without any problem... where does this idea come from that it won't be durable ???????????? It's even the opposite that will happen, hybridization is of such complexity...
That’s great to hear from you. Why Don’t we hear about on Fchat or see cars with a third of that sort of mileage?

Well, the reason I only have 9,000 miles on mine is 1) I don’t travel often and when I do, we need more room and 2) I spread my mileage between multiple cars. I drove roughly 30k miles last year but it is split primarily between the F8, 812, 911TTS, Jeep and Pickup. If I only drove one car…. Well, it would have to be a truck. I did that already for many years! Still, I have had the 812 for seven years with zero engine issues. Actually zero issues other than having to replace the battery. I suspect that most people only post problems while either complaining or looking for solutions. That being said, I think you are going to love the 849TR!
The car is now arriving at 200,000 km apparently : look at the 9th minute FERRARI 812 NOVITEC 165.000km *351km/h* REVIEW on AUTOBAHN - YouTube
To be honest, so much of the criticisms of Ferrari have been totally misplaced. The EU regulators have set their sights on killing the ICE industry. Their crazy impossible regulations force ICE manufacturers to make huge sacrifices which adversely their cars. Premature engine failures. High oil consumption losses. No engine music. Ugly plastic warning posters sewn into the visors . Stupid pages of digital warning which every person needs to dismiss every time they want to drive. Who reads this crap. Tons of plumbing devoted to the first 5 seconds of starting the car. Clumsy plastic vapor locks on the gas pumps to try to prevent any vapor escaping . this is pure insanity and we need to stand up to these crazy politicians or else we are all lost. Germany is already seeing the death of their auto industry. I hope that the EU will see the folly of their decisions. At least the USA is going to allow people and markets to determine the future of the car.
I think the criticism is more to do specifically with the aesthetics that have befallen some of the new cars. The engineering has been amazing.
I'll preface this by saying that I love the V6 hybrid in the 296. Not as much as I love V12s, but I think it's fantastic. And clearly, in today's regulatory environment, dropping NA V12s in every car is not a remotely realistic path, regardless of customer preferences. That said, I find the racing credentials of the V6 hybrid as a format a bit hollow. It wasn't chosen by racing teams as the best solution in an open formula. The rules make them fait accompli. They're literally required in F1. The manufacturers championed these rules because they knew they'd be forced by regulators to downsize the engine in their road cars. They wanted us to make this connection. Imagine trying to persuade the population that V6 hybrids were desirable in street cars if they'd continued running screaming V10s in F1. (I wish they had, but it's clear why they didn't.) This is to take nothing away from Ferrari's V6 hybrid powertrain (which I think is outstanding) or the engineering breakthroughs happening in F1 and Le Mans (which are genuinely astounding). But I don't think that winning with this format in today's series proves its superiority. A very good choice? Yes. The best choice? I'm not sure. Where would we be today had all those development dollars been directed towards V12s instead?
F1 is contemplating a return to V8 turbo with electric hybrid at 10-30%. Ferrari and Mercedes are in approval but with a 2030 introduction to allow for development. Cadillac and Red Bull might be “me too’s” as they are on the fence. Paying for F1 racing is an issue. But as road car customers a return of the V8 in F1 is a very good thing! If we believe that racing improves the brand then the lack of V12 ‘s in F1 for over a decade is not a good thing at all. In a parallel world I’d love to see V12s in F1 racing during the past decade. The incredible improvements in valve train, cylinder linings, pistons, rings, crankshaft geometry and of course metallurgical advances would have improved the customer road cars. But living in our Milky Way that never happened
