430 Latest update to the Trev tune for manual conversions

I want to preface this by saying this is for 2008+ only cars so don’t get too excited if you have one that’s older.

Being down the street from @sammyf has it’s perks as I was updated last week that Trev, through his lifelong quest to be one with the code, has found not only another 30ftlbs of torque in the car but also something small that kept the 2008+ conversions from more accurately behaving like a factory manual car would. I don’t have enough expertise to elaborate on that and don’t want to say the wrong thing, but suffice to say that there was an improvement with the fuel mapping at low speeds and on deceleration.

I didn’t have many gripes with the car to begin with so I was surprised to hear that there was going to be any sort of significant improvement. However, after getting the tune done, I am amazed at how different the car feels. It really did smooth everything out and it almost feels like a different car. It’s less violent and shaky when letting on and off the throttle quickly. Rev matching has become slightly easier and I don’t get as much jumping around when at low speeds. It’s hard to describe really but I can tell you that I noticed it immediately from the passenger seat when Sam took my car out for the initial drive with the new tune.

The extra torque was a bonus although I have to be honest in saying that the car is already pretty fast and it’s only a slight feel on the butt dyno.

You do lose some of the burble on decel but it’s still there for the most part and the improved drivability is worth the trade off if you like burbling around

 

that is one of the things. Also, not sure if you ever got any “bucking” or anything at super low speeds. The previous tune was very much on/off with the pedal at low speeds. This makes it more evened out

 

To the best of my understanding, something in the gauge cluster still sends out some type of signal to the ecu prompting F1 behavior. The new tune makes the ECU ignore the signal and perform the way it should as a manual. Something with the fuel maps specifically that causes more abrupt changes. I could be way off so if @360trev wants to elaborate or explain it better that would be good
