My head is spinning after following all the battery threads. Need to change battery in a 2007 F430. Going to go with the AGM type. Which is the preferred especially so we don't need any changes in tie down rods or such.

    Thank You

I say just go with Antigravity, dont have to worry about charging. I can leave my car unplugged for 2 months and no issues.
If not go with interstate AGM.

Open it up and see which plate is in there - Normal or for Optima
ONce you see that - choose like people will say Interstate or my recommendation of Duracell AGM ( sam's or batteries plus)
If plate is for optima - i would just stick with a new optima and make sure it is always on a charger - i never had any issues with my 4 optima red tops ( 4 diff cars including Scud)

    I've got Interstate AGM

I think you're referring to the form factor though?

The 34R vs the 48H model? My car had the 48H model, it's smaller, an easier fit, but less CCA as a result.

If you open up the battery compartment area, the 34R does fit using all existing hardware. Just be careful to male sure the metal bar doesn't hit the terminals, or wrap the bar

    Hello,

In 2020 I intended to replace my battery with an Interstate MTZ-34R.
At the time these were not available so I replaced it with an Interstate MT-91/T6, which fit perfectly using the original securing hardware.
This year I replaced my battery again (the old battery was fine but I did this as a pre-cautionary step).
This time I was able to order a MTZ-34R which proved to be a much tighter fit.
The original securing hardware could still be used but the tie-down bar could not be fitted to the top edge of the battery as as the rods were not long enough.
Fortunately the MTZ-34R has a series of horizontal ribs in the battery casing and the original hardware was utilized with these.
I have replaced a lot of batteries and the MTZ-34R is by far the heaviest battery I have ever encountered.
If I do this again I will likely buy the MT-91/T6 over the MTZ-34R as it installs easier and is cheaper (and it did the job with no issues whatsoever).
I always keep the battery on a tender.
    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Les

    H48 (black) and 34R

The 48 is just a bit smaller, fits a little bit better and as mentioned above, the bar will fit over the top of the battery, as opposed to clamping it to the edge.

The 34 is for those of us who just can't help themselves ;)
