    Hi,

I just picked up a 10 month old 296 GTB.

I'm completely blown away by the car.

It joins a Speciale, 911S/T and few other Porsches, so it has been interesting comparing it to the Speciale and other cars.

I have lots and lots of reading to do, but I was hoping someone could give me some guideance on the following:

01 - Exhaust: I've added an exhaust valve controller to my Speciale and S/T... I don't want to change the exhaust on the 296, but I was wondering if the 296 exhaust also has restrictions, and can be modified with a controller?

02 - V6 Sound: I'm amazed at the sound they've managed to unlock from the 296. Is the sound 'real / mechanical' as such, or have they introduced synthetic sounds to the car?

03 - Loud: is additional sound piped into the 296 cabin for theatre, or does the car actually sound that loud and alive outside?

04 - Rear / Engine Bay: I love the design of the car, but something doesn't sit comfortable with the way they have dropped the engine bay down, instead of a clean rear slanted window from the roof to the rear of the car, like all of it's predecessors. I'd love to see an F8 wedge / slat style glass cover filling this up. I'm not one for modifying a car (beyond exhaust controllers), but has anyone seen any kits like this on the 296?

A few photos below. I removed the tints and added Novitec wheels.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't think the sound is synthetic. It does get piped into the cabin i believe. I definitely find it louder with windows up than windows down so maybe outside is not as loud as the inside. Generally I'm not a look at me loud kind of guy.

Is it coincidentally parked in space "296"?

    Love the car, though, congrats!

    Thank you all.

Yes, a complete coincidence with my parking space. I’ve had my Speciale parked in it for the last 9 months.
