Exactly! These cars are made to provide pleasure while driving them, and those who pass by and don't drive their cars haven't understood the very essence of life... perhaps they think they are eternal ?
Confusing Wall Street and Ferrari is a shame... if driving a Ferrari is no longer exciting, then I wonder what could excite them...

My car is still stuck at the Port. It has been there a couple of months, I think. I’ll have to look back through emails to see when I first got the notification that it was there. Still no idea when it gets out. :/

Thats unusual. It is due to the tariffs?
And if your car is painted with PPG paint then the cost of the paint should not be subject to the tariffs since PPG is a US company!

It’s impossible to parse out the cost of the standard paint.

But if you chose the fancy paint option then there is a line item cost. One could write to the US Customs and Duty office and petition to have the tariff percentage of your paint refunded to you since the paint came from a US company.

Cheapo paint is 12,500 plus taxes. Let’s say that lines out at say 14,000 so that refund would be $4,800 roughly

If your paint costs 40K then with taxes that 43,000 and the refund back should be 13,500.

    Anyway sorry.
I know ! There is no math on Fchat!

I checked my email and it has been at the port since mid June. So, not as long as it seems since apparently they do nothing during August!

Apparently, Ferrari pushed as many vehicles through to the U.S. when tariff began to loom. This created a big glut at the port and they are having quite a time working through that inventory.

Very well put. At some point everyone realizes they are not eternal but by then its too late to turn back the clock and start having fun. :(

Sorry to hear that it's been stuck there. Hopefully you will get it soon and start enjoying it.

Sorry to hear that, delays at the port, for whatever the reason(s), have become more and more common.

that's the case for 296VS at least Aperta has a mininum 3 ferrari cars requirement, not purchase history - owned and linked to your account. I think the stat I was told is Top customers have on average 15 F cars.

For the 812comp you needed 5 I believe. I had 3, and it included 2 TM high spec cars. I also owned both versions of the 812, but not at the same time. Never got a comp.

I think it also depends on the market. For US its probably as you said, different for Europe, different for Middle East etc. I am hoping I can get away with something less for where I am based at the moment as its a tiny country.

What about the dollar vs the euro?
Will the dollar lose value or gain value compared to the euro?

All of the Lolita’s decision regarding killing the ICE engine and inviting all immigrants to the EU may cause a weakening of the auto industry and financial stability .

This may cause a weakening of the Euro compared to the dollar. We might see the dollar and the Euro regain a parity.

Then new Ferraris will become “cheaper” for US buyers. I’m not saying that F cars are cheap!

Currency trading is one of the most speculative forms of trading. Nobody knows what will happen and even if something happens you never know how long it will last.

I am probably incorrect but I have been told that Ferrari is "eating" the US tariff as it is tax deductable to them in Italy and they already do not need to loose US market share.

I wasnt suggesting that we should engage in currency arbitrage. Just chatting about a possible weakening of the EURO due to a decade of policy decisions.

They are on the Roma Spider, and any last 296 GTS and SF90 Spiders, but that's it. All other models have a tariff uplift on them.

What is a 12C VS? I have 3F cars and a 12 C on order. I have never heard of this one. Just for thought, why do Ferrari dealers put a 1 year lean on your new car to keeping you from flipping it unless they have first right of refusal? Depreciation??? Makes no sense to me.

There is no 12C VS yet. It would be a limited special version similar to the TDF for instance. Regarding the ROFR, I believe Ferrari is trying to limit the flippers. They prefer people who purchase the car be real fans, rather than speculators who don’t really care about the brand. We generally keep our cars and drive them so not a big deal. At some point in the future, will cull the herd and stick with 2-3 that we love. If we can swing a 12C VS, it would be a definite step in that direction. An Icona is a wishful dream. :)

If the client is big enough some have flipped as they buy a ton of cars from them. The ROFR is also a way for the dealer to flip themselves for more cash after the initial sale. They want to be the ones to make the profit after the initial sale.
