[MEDIA]
When you crap on people climbing the ladder dont expect them to wipe your butt on the way down. Payback is a ........ Personally I dont see it and its all hype by the said Mr Horner..........however ditch Fred and all is forgiven! Treachery and old age go hand in hand.
I like to say "Old age and treachery beats youth and inexperience".......... its all we have got left
I personally would support the move. He will bring with him new talent that will change how they work. The recent race at Singapore was a disaster involving the brakes overheating. Horner doesn't need Ferrari he is already wealthy. That gives him a freedom Fred does not have and the folks at Ferrari know it will be in the contract that he runs the team and can change any member. We will see what happens. It should not be lost on Ferrari that with bringing Horner on board......they not only get a very successful leader but take him off the table for other teams. The only real question is if Ferrari is ready for someone to change how they work.
You will need more than just Horner and no team has an offer to him yet. He is calling most if not all and some have said no and rather publicly at that. Its too early for him and whatever talent he has. He was not alone in success at all. He did drive the good talent out of RedBull in 18 months and he has baggage of his own as well. Take a look at Mekies and how happy Max is. Thats not Horner at all.
Show me one consistent winner at any level that isn't vilified by the competition. It comes with success. Sure.....he may never have that success again but he built a team that beat Ferrari and Mercedes ......consistently and the team owner was an energy drink company with zero experience in manufacturing or building race cars. Ferrari needs a kick in the ass. They are not going to find their way back to consistent World Championships doing what they are doing. Worse......in my opinion they will really struggle with the new car next year.
I honestly don't think Ferrari is open to the idea of ANY Englishman coming into the Scuderia and revamp what has been long a traditional, cultural and Italian way of doing things. They are opposed to the that idea. Yes, they tried it once and it worked until that got broken up. It's gonna have to be someone from within.
Translation: Montezemolo never misses an opportunity to take a jab at the current organization of the Prancing Horse: it needs very strong leadership, a lot of courage, and that authority which is lacking at Ferrari. This way, we're not getting anywhere. Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
In essence as in football when the coach has lost the dressing room he a man walking. In my view Fred has lost the support of people inside the team (if not the management of Ferrari who appear to back him) and the utterances from Charles seem to suggest a great deal of unhappiness in the team which Fred does not seem able to sort out. Granted in my opinion this all started with sulking Hamilton and I have to wonder if Carlos would have done the same thing. Perhaps a leadership change would restore some morale.
The groundless obsession with Horner to fix all issues at Ferrari is hilarious. Its 1 position amongst a large staff, management, technical issues and Corporate governance lol. Horner knows what about Ferrari Corporate and the inherent issues in depth to make immediate changes and instantly have success in Ferrari. Sure..............
Came here to say this. It's baffling when people say "Oh if we get a new TP: or "Man if we just had Newey" or "Get new drivers" then everything will suddenly turnaround. Not how F1 life works. If anything going to Ferrari in recent times has been a career killer.
Vasseur needs more time. How long did it take Horner to win a title at RedBull? In a far far different environment. RedBull and Ferrari are not remotely similar. RedBull are NOT the small wild anti establishment team. They have not been for years. Lets see if Horner wants to take his white only clothing queen to Italy. Newey was hardly interested lol.
Steiner input on Horner rumors of return: Ferrari will not offer ownership to anyone lol. “I guess they came out because he talked with somebody at Haas, as it was reported afterwards. And therefore the rumors came out that he was going there. “But this is how quick rumors get legs in Formula 1; you speak with somebody, it’s a fact. No, we just spoke about it.” Steiner was pressed to offer some advice to Horner should he make a move to Haas, which the former team principal declined. However, he was willing to discuss what life could look like for Horner away from the race track. “I think he gets busy pretty quick as well,” Steiner admitted. ” I haven’t spoken with him since he left Red Bull. I don’t know what’s in his mind, what he wants to do. “Maybe he just wants to go back into it. Could easily be, you know. “But maybe he’s happy to do something else. I mean, Christian could easily go on TV, on Sky. It’s perfect. And he knows the sport very well. “But I think Christian is trying to get somewhere in a team again. He lived it for so long, that’s his passion. “But as I said, I think you need to give himself a little bit of time, to calm down, not to take the first opportunity but to see what else is around.” At the moment, Horner’s future is currently unclear, though it is understood that he is looking to secure a partial ownership role in any team he works for going forward in much the same way that Toto Wolff owns a stake in the Mercedes team he runs.
Pure speculation. Not gonna worry one way or the other until it happens. I can see positive and negatives.
I think Max and Mekies are super compatible since Mekies is more tech savvy and when Max makes a suggestion to Mekies, Mekies listens and given his knowledge decides to implement Max's suggestion or not. So far, it's worked and in the past 3 races Max is either P1 or P2 in the race with minor upgrades.
In an interview, Horner hinted what he wants to stay in F1: full control of a team, plus some equity . He isn't going to find that at Ferrari, where he would only be an employee.
I reckon they might just promote Jerome D'Ambrosio ,currently Deputy TP, if Elkan has had a serious bust up with Fred. With RACE also under pressure a change in race performance might also help the shares, even a little.
There is no denying Horners' success with teams and he really did do a wonderful job, but it seems his own success may have clouded his judgement in which direction to take. Horner clearly had a lot of faith in the simulator side of things. Problems started mid 2023 already and Max voiced his concerns but we all know how that season went (total domination from said complainer). Then 2024 an all new, complicated car that on paper should do absolutely brilliantly, but didn't. I guess Horner got too data driven and perhaps didn't ''trust'' (for lack of better word) Max as much given his complaints about the 2023 car despite him utterly dominating, Horner went with his own vision. Mekies (new eyes) comes in, clearly not a stupid man and did the correct thing: He saw what Horner was attempting for a while wasn't really working so relied on what the lead driver suggested. And the rest is history. It's a shame it didn't happen 2 months earlier. ---- I do think Horner would create some positive changes at Ferrari but at the same time...no championship within 2 years and he'll be finding the one way exit door for himself, too.
