Thank you. It's verde menthe, yes ordered new although it's not a "new" order in that I put the deposit and signed the initial order within a day of the reveal in April 2022!
Atelier added 18 months or more to the order, I was the #2 up for production at my dealer as of late 2023 (they'd keep showing me the list, "Look bro, you're next up"). They said it would start April 2024. Then May. Then July? But weird things delayed it like the factory sent my dealer the exact same warranty waiver for my extra range leather choices THREE TIMES over 6 months, saying that my production could not begin until I signed the waiver. And it still took nearly a year to start after the third time we sent it back...
It’s in excellent condition and fingers crossed it’s mechanically sorted. Some nicks and what look like car cover or strap rubs in the clearcoat to finish buffing out (not the dealer’s fault, I was pushing to get it quickly and they cut the PDI time down by 3 days). PPF shop has their detailer on it to finish the buff and polish on those spots before clear PPF this week. Did anyone tint the small rear window? I am tinting the side windows but that rear one is so tucked in under the roof spoiler/wing that I told them to hold off on that for now. Maybe just the 97% UV one that looks almost clear.
I tinted the windshield and rear windows in uv protection only. My installer also said that it's so tucked in that if we tinted it, the cabin interior might feel too dark for this car. I tint my car to protect from the sun, generally not a super dark kind of guy, feels a bit anti social.
This is going to sound nuts but it was $40-50k less than I expected. I was bracing for mid-500s and it came in a little over 500. 132k in options but no exterior carbon saves money.
Probably the only time I get that one, we'll see how the Speciale orders come through. They're not eating the tariff increase so that will change orders for sure. I'm actually debating going more for the interior options and exterior carbon with $0 on paint for a change - just get solid Nero and then choose a metallic PPF. Going to have to spend $10-12k on PPF and tint no matter the color... Got my first real miles in the GTS today as I picked it up last night from PPF and promptly caught some rain on while driving home (just a little spitty sprinkle but still, my luck to be in the desert and like the 10th rain of the year). I had forgotten how light the steering was; the blow off valve sound is much more pronounced than the GTB. I had also forgotten how small it feels on the freeway next to big trucks... that torque is addictive though when you catch an opening and leap ahead.
Also surprised how much turbulence there in in the cabin with the side windows down. I wear baseball hats pretty much constantly, and at 80mph the swirling air starts to pull my hat off. Don't remember that happening with the 355 spider or the Roma Spider loaner.
is that with the top down? There’s massive buffeting when you are in the triple digits while in the coupe
Yeah top down, side and rear down. So side windows up cuts down the wind a lot, with the rear glass open. If you raise the rear glass and it seems to get worse again.
The 296 might need the anti buffeting devices that go by the mirror. They were absolutely required on my gt3 and eliminated the buffeting. something like this https://www.fabspeed.com/fabspeed-black-anti-wind-buffeting-kit/
Ferrari were vocal that they did a lot of work to eliminate wind noise in the cabin with the Top down and windows up. Windows down and it will be like a hurricane in there.
