If you want to participate in trying something new, go for the newest version of the MS Racing exhaust.

Oh; you mean the company that attempted to steal Kreissieg’s design & rainbow welds, but failed?

Not many people have made that mistake. That system is poorly made in all seriousness.

I'm currently on the hunt for an ITO racing muffler, but I am coming against a few roadblocks and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I have found a distributor here in Australia but I am having great difficulty squeezing any information from ITO themselves as regards to what sort of versions of the muffler exist..?

Do they even have a website ..?

I came across this video, that suggests there may be two different sounding versions of the muffler, , but I dont speak japaneese so I cant be sure..

Its the second car's muffler ( without the challenge grill) that I am looking for.

I understand that they come in trumpet and diagonal cut versions of the exhaust tip, so If someone can show me what that looks like that would be great.

So is there only "one sound" version that they make which comes in different exhaust tip configurations..?

If you order a brand new one today, you’ll get one with the better (louder) sound.

About 10-15 years ago, a local racing Team called “Arai Bankin” spec’d out a louder version (perhaps less packing etc). That version became popular and most requested that spec. Today, they only offer that version as standard. You still have 2 tip solutions, which have minimal effect on sound.

If you buy an older used Ito, there’s a chance it could be pre-Arai Bankin spec. They were also heavier.

Correct I have owned both versions. There is zero down side to the Arai Bankin Spec. I weighed both and its noticeably lighter and sounds just as refined and quiet down low but absolutely screams up top. You wont be unhappy with either but the only way you are getting the older style is buying used.

I just got one off ebay. Going to swap out my Capristo with it soon. Looking to have the car slightly less loud with bypass closed.

Weigh it before you install it. That will tell you if it is Arai Bankin Spec or not.

    Great..

Correct me if I am wrong but what you are telling me is that If I order an ITO racing muffler from ITO Racing themselves , then I will automatically get the "Arai Bankin” spec which ITO Racing now make as standard..?

    The next question is..

Does ITO Racing have a website that I can order through..?
If not who are some distributors that I need to go through to make it happen..?

I am in the Asia Pacific Region..

I don't have anything proper to weight it with at the moment. What is the difference in weight between the two? I asked the guy I purchased it from and he said it was bought brand new about a year ago.

Ito Racing has a Japanese website and if you live in Japan, they will allow you to order. If you are outside of Japan, they don’t bother and simply refer you to one of their ADs either because they don’t speak English or don’t want to deal with international shipping.

You can order through Catspeed in Japan or through your Australian connection. The guy who runs Catspeed speaks English.

And yes, you will automatically get the Arai Bankin spec. That spec is the new standard.

You purchased the one on Ebay with cut tips for $6k? Should be the new version. Rest of weight could just be packaging material.

    Thanks for the input guys..

    So here is the dilemma..

I only just found out a few days ago about the ITO racing muffler for the F355.

The problem is that I had already pulled the trigger on a brand new Capristo Level 3 Exhaust.

Do I sell the Capristo and buy the ITO Racing..?

What do you guys that have had experience with the ITO Muffler think..?

Ito is much better than capristo on 2.7

haven’t driven 5.2 with ITO but the Capristo exhaust suits the 5.2 in my experience.

Thanks for sharing your wealth of experience on the matter Elliot..

Are you able to expand more on why you prefer the Capristo on the 5.2.. as opposed to the 2.7..?
