I have this on the SF90 Spider...It's cool when you look at the whole picture of the car, but not necessary by any means. I also found that with more carbon does more creaking noises.

Would anyone here from the UK know if the car is on display anywhere in London at the moment?

Because there is no exact number of units available, and anyone who would still qualify for such a car would still get it?

The. two days you buy / sell is a small percentage, - why focus on that 10th percent.
Another VS allocation helps 296 stabilize - in theory.

No, because you don't need a 296 for a special allocation.

As a driving enthusiast, I’m more excited about the 296 Speciale than I have been for many other limited editions that have come before. While I initially balked at the V6 architecture, there’s no denying how good it sounds and the incredible success Ferrari has had with the chassis and motor. This one being a lighter, faster, sharper version will set a high water mark for Ferraris famed for their driving bliss. Even if it doesn’t appreciate as much, I don’t care, because I’ll be having more fun than collectors who can’t drive their 458 SAs.

agreed and 296 itself is amazing to drive. can't wait to hear how much of step up 296VS will be. there is no compromise in the 296 that the predecessors had relative to brakes, direct front end and speed. 458 and older gens the brakes were not good. the front end was not even close to as direct as the 296. Sound wise - yes its not as visceral as the old NA V8s BUT it sounds so damn good for a car with a twin turbo and gpf. speciale will be a step up in all regards. can't wait.

Agreed wholeheartedly. As another interesting data point, my dad was offered an allocation despite only having bought a normal 812 SF back in 2018 (still has it) and doing some challenge events. He turned down numerous other models but is tempted by this one. He especially loves the braking on the 296 challenge.

I did need one - so I have no idea what you are talking about.
It's a game, sometimes you win sometimes you lose - def don't win if you don't play.

Ferrari would simply have to keep production numbers for the 296 Speciale Aperta below 1,300 and the car would be very attractive on the market.

the weight saving is pretty crappy really, 60kg and as as the car is heavier than any of the other special editions to start with, as a percentage it's by far the worst reduction

annoying that they couldn't get more out of it tbh

The car just has to be rare, then it will also be popular.

The weight savings are not relevant. They could get rid of the HUD and the passenger display if they really wanted to save weight. I also assume that the 60kg are only valid if you choose all the carbon options on the VS and compare with a stock 296 on standard wheels

And probably a third of the weight savings is from the carbon wheels.

Painted front bumper in carbon is a 16k option, and the rear bumper is 12k

the optional titanium exhaust must make up some of the weight savings too? I guess it's quite a lot of money to get all of the options to get the fully 60kg saving as intended by the factory

If it's like on previous models, the "titanium exhaust" (or any exhaust options) is only for the tips, so the benefit is marginal (but still present I guess) in terms of weight.

And then give all that weight right back with the privilege of receiving the Aperta version. There was no Challenge Stradale Aperta...
