The 12 C is very quiet, refined and stable, so it is hard to tell if its performance is equal to the 812. It is definitely not faster, but maybe close. Probably corners a bit better than the 812. I’ve ordered an aftermarket exhaust already.
i test drove 12 c again, i think its faster but to civilized, ironic considering it is a much better balanced car also the interior is to modern very fiat like perhaps the spyder is a different car with roof down but for a dangerous car is far more fun
Is there a module for the exhaust valves available for the 12C? I have one on my Revuelto and it sounds so much better, I am picking up my 12C Coupe next week, I haven’t heard the exhaust yet.
It comes with either a new Goodyear or Michelin Pilot Sport S 5, correct? Do you mean one of those two or another entirely?
Mine has PS5. Traction is not a problem on the 12C with these tires. Also the 12C has slightly lower torque and peak torque builds at higher rpm so that helps traction, but reduces the out of control feeling of the 812 (which I like), so feels less crazy, and more settled.
Not yet. Novitec had one but they pulled it as it had some issues. I tried one designed for the Purosangue but it did not work.
My novitec guy said that a new press release with new info on the 12Cilindri product is coming soon along with a different configuration for the exhaust (sport not race) .. so lets see.
If there was ever any doubt in my mind about the black between the headlights, this video eliminated it. I very much prefer the black piece. in other news, that exhaust definitely sounds nice!
Ahh, interesting. To me he made it look like the car was great, added exhaust and tune and it turned into a dumpster fire.
NOVITEC INSTALLED - A COMPLETE TRANSFORMATION!! I was seriously thinking of not keeping the 12C because it was too tame, but the muffler swap changes everything. A totally different car. Sound is excellent, plenty loud, good pitch, howls and wails like a proper Ferrari V12 should. Lots of burbling when you let off the gas. Do not need a valve switch. In Wet and Sport mode, the quiet flap is closed till around 3500rpm, but in Race it is always open. I installed the POWER OPTIMIZED EXHAUST SYSTEM (muffler only) WITH FLAP-REGULATION FOR ORIGINAL TIPS Article No. F1 012 70 (Novitec site). I made a couple of iPhone sound clips, but the system won't let me attach them. It's an M4A file. I'd say the 812 is still stronger and feels a bit more wild in mid-range rpm (4000-6000), but the 12C does pull pretty smoothly and strongly all the way past 9000 with no let-up in acceleration. I'll post a more fulsome report in the appropriate section in the next few days.
I currently own an 812 GTS. I had to lower it and install different wheels, but it now looks like it should. That being said, I have a 12 C on order and test drove it last week. Coming from the GTS, I noticed that the 12 C is significantly quieter. It still pulls with the same aggression, but I didn’t feel the need to white knuckle it like I do with the 812. I saw the new Novitec videos today, and I’ll have to get their exhaust system for my new 12 C. Thank you @575joe for the review. Good to hear the valves are always open in race. Image Unavailable, Please Login I will add the full system- sport catalysts in the front, Xpipe in the middle, sport muffler that is flap actuated in the rear but I will keep the OEM tip design. I prefer the rectangles over the round Novitec.
I’ve had my 12 Cilindri now for a few months. I absolutely love the car. BUT, it is the first Ferrari I’ve had that I can honestly say needs an exhaust. You do lose the drama of a V12 in the absence of the sound and as a result it tames the car too much in my opinion. If this setup that I too have been keep tabs on does not trip “check engine” lights and does not cause any issues with that GPF cleaning function where there could be a soot build up issue/over heating I think it solves my one and only issue with the car.
Anxiously waiting for your upload of sound clips or better yet.. video. If your setup is already good enough then it eliminates a lot of the concern I had about doing a bigger modification on the car.
