Hello Dirk, Always surprises.. here is a picture of my panel. 1984 US version, I think it’s original? Some shenanigans I had to remove namely the alarm system from the 80s…. Now you can spend the rest of your life to try to make it original. BUT if everything works ok, leave it alone for now. Prost Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you Prost- yes from all the documentation I studied I can say that your panel looks quite original. I’ve come to accept that on my car someone must have literally emptied out everything inside the metal box, and re-wired with Bosch relays and glass fuses. It looks like it’s been done long time ago by someone who was knowing what they were doing, maybe because the back-then owner complaint about issues with all the Tedel and other modules so they went ahead and deleted them. Most of these modules in that box are just for secondary or comfort functions so seen positively this is an upgrade haha. Other than this one panel, the car s 100% original everywhere.
So the Suspa from Suspa are 250ish (pair)from Suspa special order, MIE unlabeled probably the stabilus. $400ish for 2 + shipping Oreily 15$ each 45$ out the door for 2, Stabilus Made in Mexico. The rod is dark and not chromed… we have a choice. The ones for the trunk, were easy from Amazon.
Hi Jeff, mind sharing the Amazon link for the trunk lifts, I can't seem to find them and mine are shot... Thanks Dirk
hood : Stabilus 3B-042587 Trunk : Stabilus 3B-052086 hi Dirk, I went on Amazon and it says no longer available, UPC code is 194879022758 and when I bought them I put in Stabilus 3B-052086 and they came up. Now something else comes up. I paid 43$ for both + 20$ for shipping made in USA version, not sure where you are but you can probably get them at o’reilly auto parts I think.
I have an Issue with the trunk relay. When it’s calm it’s calm and closed. Once I open it it keeps opening for every 10-15 seconds. Until I open the fuel filler cover, then close it and usually the trunk relay stops cycling, but not always. Sometimes I have to try the gas cap cover two 3,4 times. And on the third cycle of the fuel tank filler switch all doors also lock…sometimes I disconnected the trunk relay switch and it keeps cycling, so it’s not the switch…. I’ll do more troubleshooting but maybe someone can lead me directly to the issue. Saves time. Thanks. Battery is new has full voltage.
There was an older alarm system that I removed. Basically a lot of bypass splices ect.. it must have had a door lock unlock function, and a trunk open function and probably a fuel tank cover open function. I must be missing some bypasses somewhere…
It’s not the trunk switche, I swapped it with another, Same issue. Disconnected fuel filler cover relay..same issue. Once the trunk “auto opens” I still have to press the fuel cover switch a few times and sometimes the door open switch to clear the fault.. once my door lock/unlock switch flashes again it’s back into normal mode. As soon as I press the trunk latch button it goes back into Auto Open mode…and door open button stops flashing.. I can’t seem to have enough wire to disconnect the fuel cover switch. I can’t pull it out all the way. Once I get it out I’ll remove the switch and see if the problem persists.
