What’s the hard time? Another lame dealer with an issue with changing the exhaust? Which one?

I think it’s faster if you yell “vroom,VROOOM!” while accelerating!

Interesting. So the sound is much more ONLY changing the rear silencer/muffler? No X pipe or sport cats? If that is the case, a lot of the sound deadening must be in the muffler this time. With the 812, that was not the case. It is good news, because you wont be voiding warranty. My dealer has never had a problem with an X pipe or muffler, just cats.

Do you have an Instagram account that you upload videos to?

Yes just the muffler and for me that was quite enough to take this car from excessively quiet to just right to sound like a proper a Ferrari V12.
    I do not use Instagram.
I hope to make another sound file in a format that I can post here, assuming the weather holds out.

That is excellent news to hear. Getting back what was missing and retaining warranty.

Yeah, it's too bad. I guess find one that is reasonable.

Here is a video sound clip of me doing a 1-2-3, then downshifting. Note it was cold, so take-off is purposely gentle, and I did lose some traction near the redline.
The second file is a roll in 3rd gear - shift to 4th, with downshifts down to second.
Note that my car is a Spider, and these were recorded with the rear window down.
If you have the coupe, you may find this setup still a bit too quiet, with the windows up.

Nice, sounds killer. Maybe an X pipe is next? I'm not sure if it is just me, but the actual engine sound seems much improved over the 812. Silky and the highs are more prominent. How much more exhaust sound would you say you get with the new muffler? 20%? Closer to an 812?

I agree, it is now similar to the stock 812, but a bit smoother and more silky.
My 812 has the stock exhaust but with a valve switch.
Listen to the sound clips below. (Note that live both have more of an edge to them - I lost a bunch when I had to compress them.)

Quick question ... Did you also have to install NOVITEC GTRONIC for setups without the Novitec sport-catalysts (Article No. F1 012 77)? My dealer said "it's recommended" ... not sure if it is :)

I do not know what a GTRONIC is. In any case, I only installed the muffler section, with rectangular tips to fit the stock tips on the car. No switch.

I also do not really know what it is ... the guy said it's related to "possible" error codes from the particulate filter ...

I asked ChatGPT, here is what it says:

What the F1 012 77 “without sport catalysts” GTRONIC version does
That version of the GTRONIC is not for bypassing GPF deletes, but rather for stabilizing ECU communication when:
    • You install only the rear Novitec exhaust (like your F1 012 70 system),
    • Keep the stock catalysts and GPFs,
    • But want to ensure no sporadic GPF differential-pressure errors or flap-control malfunctions.
    In simple terms:

    F1 012 77 = “comfort” GTRONIC for setups that retain OEM catalysts/GPFs but want a “safe, error-free” operation with Novitec’s power-optimized exhaust.
It doesn’t modify emissions readings — it just ensures the exhaust-flap electronics and CAN-bus communication don’t trigger spurious warnings due to altered flow or valve behavior.
Think of it as a “bridge” between Novitec’s exhaust valve logic and Ferrari’s strict GPF-monitoring ECU.

I did not install GTRONIC. Driven quite extensively in the last 2 weeks. No error codes.

I would not think you should need the GTronic if you just replace the muffler. The GPFs are not there.

Thanks to @575joe for the sound clips.

It's hard to tell from sound clips as they do get compressed, most smart phones will try to equalize the sound pressure level.

With that said, I can easily tell the 812 sounds clearer and rawer. The 12 Cilindri still sounds pretty good though. Is the 812 a superfast or GTS?
