    Any particular bank/sensor?

I'm having issue with the wiring diagrams not matching the WSM at the moment.

Are these the cam sensors or the knock sensors?

The wiring diagrams I have identify these as the knock sensors, but the WSM identifies them as the cam sensors.

If these are the cam sensors...

The middle pin (2) is the signal out to the ECU. Pin 1 should have power with the key on. Pin 3 should be ground.

They are Hall-type sensors, so need power going to them.

    Still working on the alternator...

The alternator should be something like this:

Pin 1 goes the alternator/battery warning light (yellow/green wire). This signal goes to the instrument panel
Pin 2 (yellow) is ignition volts (via fuse PSF5)
Pin 3 (red/blue) is battery volts (via maxi fuse 5 next to the battery)

Plug XL37 is behind the left hand seat

    Hi!

thank you a lot - you are great help - highly appreciated!

Bosch 0261231167 - those are the knock sensors - any chance you have that info too?

if you don t mind i have 2 more questions:

any chance you know where to find the female connectors for the camshaft variators? do you maybe know which other car brand uses them too? this is for custom standalone ECU harness...

and/or i am thinking about deleting the camshaft variators - locking them in high power position - do you maybe have a construction drawing for the variators ?

    These seem similar....
Pin 1 is the signal out
Pin 2 is the power, but not sure if the origin is from the ECU. The dots in the wiring represent splices which could be attached to anything. F430 wiring diagrams sometimes simplify things too much.
Pin 3 is a common ground.

"5~6" and 7~8" are cylinder numbers. Are you familiar with Italian colour codes?

I have no idea about the plugs used.

I thought the point of variable cam timing was to optimise power and torque at various rpms.

Sorry, no idea how they are constructed. Can't remember if there is anything in the WSM about this.

Thank you Qavion - you are a great help!!

regarding the cam variators - sure but to simplify things - engine is gonna be driven in high rpms mainly - so just one thing less to care about

have a nice day ! and thx again!
