I'm with Clax. I remember Goodwood 98. The festival of speed is hillclimb. You go up individually and wait at the top until about 15 cars have run then you drive back to the pits together. After my run I unbelted and climbed out to stretch. Nick Mason walked over to look at my MK-IV. I walked over to look at his 512S. After a while we both turned back towards each other. We looked out at the other cars. P4, 612 Can AM, Chaparral, D Jag, LeMans Aston, Lola Aston, McLaren GTR,Porsche 917. He smiled and said: "Pretty special." That's the point there are a lot of special cars. Anyone who is lucky enough to own one is very, very lucky. There are Lambo's that were so special they blew Ferrari back to the drawing boards. (Muria.) There are Ferrari's so special that they stay burned into your mind 40 years later. (250 GTO, 330 P4) If you think owing either a Ferrari or a Lambo will make you something you're not it won't. I met the love of my life 35 years ago. At the time I was driving a VW bug. That was a great car too. When I met her she hadn't ever driven a car. (She was 15) Now she drives a TT Cayenne. Does that make her who she is? No. Does my P4 make me who I am? No.
My father Always told me not to talk behind a man's back. Allan Lambo is not here to defend himself so people on this board shouldn't keep bashing him. Say what you want about Allen but him but he knows his cars.......period. You guys can't say I bash ferrari's because I don't. I just prefer Lambo's more exotic look. We all have a right to prefer Lambos or Ferrari's, thats what makes this country great!! Well, we can debate this until the cows come home, But it's a nice night, So get in your ferrari/Lambo crank up the radio and cruise to Phil Collins "In the air tonight."
allan knows his cars?...you cant tell it from the nonsense he wrote here...from what he wrote, he knew nothing about cars!!!!or anything else for that matter!!!
To me, ferrari is like Porsche, a social symbol. A lot of people get Porsche or Ferraris just as their parents get a Benzie. They want to say "I'm on top". Lamborghini is more showoff, more raw, and less of a social symbol, kinda anti-social symbol. Less sophisticated than Ferrari, dare I say. More badass. To me, Ferraris have become just too convenient to be dubbed "a true sportscar enthusiast's automobile". Lambo has become like that too. It has a raging bull as an emblem, driving it should be Corrida, not Ballerina dancers. My problem is that my feelings for cars are totally egocentric. I don't care about what others think as long as it pleases me. And I don't like people who get a Ferrari to get attention, try to prove to people they don't know they are something. If I get a supercar, it's because I, myself, feel like I'm superman, flying over 300km/h 5" from the ground, not because my neighbour will be impressed by my bank account.
Like Allan or not,he has forgotten more about Italian cars than you would hope to ever know. Why dont you make some more anti-lambo posts on some other threads.I think you missed one.Your a piece of work, but entertaining.Every time your name shows on a thread, its a DIS of somebody,or some car.90% of the posts involving Lambo's,among the knowledgeable owners and enthusiasts, are at least logical and civil.Yours are always confrontational and narrow.I love both marques, for what they represent and provide us in enjoyment.I had F cars long before L cars, and have never been without one for 25 years.Oh well, have a nice evening.
There are no differences between real Ferrari owners and real Lamborghini owners. Most of the stereotypes actually come from the non-owner groupies. I didn't say all, but most. There are always going to be loud mouth jerks in any group of more than about 30 people. Just happens to be the natural population distribution. At the end of the day, yes, it is just a car. So go out and drive the damn thing.
I wasn't bashing Allen in any way at all. All I said was that he had something to say about Lambos and Ferrari. There were times that he has contributed towards a topic, others times he hasn't. But I'm sure that goes for more than just him. I just wanted to say, if you want to compare Lambos and Ferraris, I'm sure a few threads with Allen in them would have plenty of opinions from both sides.
Well said.I certainly dont change my personality when Im driving my 6.0 or 348.Still the same, gold chains and all.lol
I was raised with Lamborghinis, my father has always had them and been involved. Now that i am older and buying/selling cars here and there... and now considering a "concrete" purchase (something to keep)...i am soooooo waivored by my fathers history and my relationship with the brand. Any car guy has to love Ferrari and Lamborghini... The only reason i would pick ferrari EVER is because it is a easier car to drive from my stand point...IN MANY WAYS... point 1 Everytime i have driven a lamborghini, its like taking out a girlfriend and shes wearing a little skirt...a top that basically exposes her breasts...with high shoes that seem to attract attention from every bastard guy in your vicinity... Its almost too much sometimes... point 2 Lamborghinis are big wide cars and they are a "mans" car, you cannot be afraid of the gearbox and stiff clutch, Has anyone ever driven a Anniversary?? Its almost like the most inmidating rough sex ever! lol... but when you are done you feel soooooo accomplished. Bottom line...sometimes its nice to not have the pressure like that of a lambo...even if the feeling (to me) is more satisfying in the end. PLEASE EVERYONE THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION LOL -jt
Lambos, to me, are built to be fast no question. thats why they are v10s and 12s but i feel that sometimes the styling is trying to say "yea my car is fast and yours isnt" dont get me wrong, i think the diablo vt roadster is one of the best looking cars built, but the bottom line is that i have to agree with what others have said that the ferrari is your wife and a lamborghini is your mistress.
Don't forget your white linen sportcoat, pants and black loafers. Shaving everyday is OUT of the question. OH, and the Ferrari has to really be a vette! DL

Wax- "Too late. Dain Bramage is permanent. I speak from experience." Sorry guys... but in the 80's I never could fit a TR so easliy into a line-up with the Nissan family development. Notice I said in the Quote "a bit more like" and was talking in context of how people see it, that don't spend hours on car chat sites. P.S. I like the 360. I saw a silver one tonight in Redbank NJ (in front of Jay and Silent Bob's comic book store) very nice but I don't like the trend towards F-cars that blend in. Even though the street was crowed with young people walking around, there was no crowd around this ferrari...most didn't even notice it. I did! But the Big chrome wheels did their best to make it stand out. Looked like Oregon or Utah plates??? I wish I had my camera with me Can I enjoy the cars while asking some tough questions?
To ME the Ferraris are more elegant and classy while the Lambos are more badass and mean. I lean more towards the F cars because I prefer it's design of the exterior/interior(I dunno but it just seems the F cars pays more attention to subtle details). However I don't buy cars for purely its NAME. If it's a good car, and I like it, then it's worth the purchase doesn't matter what brand. I know people who stays true to their manufacture, and that's fine too. I love the 360CS, but hell if the Murci was in my budget I'd get it in a heart beat! * But I have to disagree with the comment about how the Ferrari are not as showy/not as fast as the lambos. All supercars turn heads IF ur into cars, but if ur like my girlfriend who's not interested in cars she'll just say "that car looks nicer than average" if I ask her how do you like that car, or else even if ur driving F1 she won't notice u. Also I'm sure if there's a lambo that's fast, there is(or will be) a F car that can match it. We all love cars which is why we're on these forums, so just enjoy what you have
Well, as a long time lurker, ive decided to make my first post. Although i own a lowly Viper Gts, i have had some seat time in several Ferraris and several Lamborghinis. The impressions i got, where that the Lamborghinis were alot more fun, and gave a much better kick in the pants. Even though it was an early model Diablo i drove, its memory has been emblazened in my head for years. I also drove several Countachs, but have a hard time fitting inside. Recently i had the opportunity to drive both a 355 and later a 360. I wasnt impressed by either of them. Now, as i am starting to look for a stablemate for my Gts, it will most certainly be a Diablo. In my opinion, and i know this is a Ferrari board, Lamborghini is a step up.
I owned a 360 for about 6 months and it was a major dissapointment. It could barly out perform a BMW M3 and I was getting smoked by Z06s, Vipers, and Lotus Esprits all day.
I've met many Ferrari and Lamborghini owners, and my perception is they are generally both down to earth nice people. I really can't say one crowd is more one way than another. Every group has it's few ____heads. One thing that does stick in my mind is >> I do believe that ''in general'' the Lambo owners have deeper pockets. It takes alot more wallet to own a Lambo than a Ferrari, even at the entry level. just my 2 cents
slower in a straight line, maybe...but most of the people here don't drive their cars in a straight line. lap times i'd put the 360 ahead on pretty much any track.
