These are some really sharp sedans in recent years. Why are 4-5 year old ones practically being given away ? Major repairs and upkeep are my guess.
Parts and repair costs still reflect the original 100k+ price point, which is hard to stomach on a 25K car.
Same reason theyre deeply discounting Ghiblis - the Germans offer better value, more service convenience(whether it means a bigger dealer network or more independent shops) and the general public doesn't buy the 'special' factor that comes with the Maserati. High service costs hurt as well, but that pain isn't unique to used Maseratis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well it starts with the deep discounts the dealers offer on these things. I leased a Ghibli last year with an $88k MSRP for $71k out the door. Beautiful car and by far for me a better choice than a comparable E class or 5er but the general public tends to like bland and predictable.
The same reason S-Class, A8's and XJ's are so cheap second hand. The uber wealthy rarely keep these cars beyond 2-4 years and second hand buyers are far and few in between. Maintenance and parts aren't cheap either.
